1. Region of gigs? Own repertoire? More details may help your search.
2. I use both a 5 and a 4 in all my bands/projects. If I am lazy I take the 5; was like you and played 6ers, until I realised a 5 would cover almost everything I do.
3. Just purchased a pedal off Frank, smooth as silk. Thank you, appreciate it. Deal in absolute confidence folks.
4. Looks okay, bound to be useful but price point will decide if it is a hit.
5. Due to the large number of positive reviews on BC I purchased the Smoothound Classic Wireless System a few months ago. Whilst it deserves all the good press it receives I have to admit I am just not using it enough to keep it. Am hard "wired" to use a cable..... Pretty much as new, with box and all bits (less the small piece of micro suction tape they give you), including the Neutrik Rean jack adapter they advise so you can use the transmitter as a body pack. Shipping in UK for a fiver.
6.
Ofcourse....dutch logic.
Technically I am only half Dutch, but am in tune with my Dutch side
7. No, I did.... Had some cash left over and a '62 stack knob Jazz was too cheap. '61 Jazz in Precision disguise made much more sense. Now to find 2 jazz pickups and a router.
8. Should never have sold mine....
9. Oooh, looks interesting, GK in a box!
10. class D = not for me. Had D class amps that came close, but none had the heft of my old A/B amps. Looks incredible though.
11. There is something incredibly wrong about taking things out on musical instruments, never got the Who/Nirvana/Muse etc breaking of guitars either. And especially not out of spite.... boooooooohhh.
Speaking of damaged Stingrays, I picked this up a few years ago from a lad who explained that he had upset his then missus who had taken it out on his bass. Doesn't look too bad from the front... but it looks like she tried a Simonon special from the back. She also scratched "Thank you!" into what was left of the paint on the back. I didn't ask what she was so thanful for It's a great player though and the neck survived intact, so no real harm done. I've thought about having it refinished but it brings a smile to my face thinkong about what the guy did to get that reaction. It's part of the charm of that instrument, now. There isn't another Stingray quite like it. To be honest, I find it quit funny that a drummer could travel three feet across a floor by drumming alone to damage your bass. It's a story for a few laughs over a beer in the future.
12. Much smaller market = less money = fewer updates. Unfortunate really.
13. Quite interesting though, whilst my 2 212s have enough spread and are at ear height, having one next to my vocal mic would potentially be really good as an enhancement tool.
14. I had a PA stand fall on my Stingray (years ago), with the safety pin that fixes the height digging into the back of the body. I'd had it for a week. Gutted, but 10 years of use later it wasn't the only ding....
15. Next time bring a cucumber and a pot of vasaline to the studio, tell him the next damage he causes to your bass is punishable with cucumber.......
16. Yes, just read the news..... RIP
17. Nice, the old "annoying twit spoils another gig" strikes again. Unfortunately comes with the turf.... most (NOT ALL) programmers/bookers are useless musicians that resort to booking bands in a futile attempt to fill their not so musical boots. They get a little fascist on bands generally...Move on.... ;p
18. Love mine, buy it if you like Muff based fuzz, you will not be disappointed.
19. Love the slight distortion too. Great bassist.
