1. Surely you have seen this one:
2. Ok, do not say this often with a Fodera, but wow.....
3. That is a cool tuning for drop C guitar mayhem!
I have my five string a bit different to the norm i guess, in my band we tune down to d standard and drop c, but i like having the open low note as a C sounds nicer to me than fretting..........IMO so i tune my bass CDGCF it also means i can hit some of my crazy octave sounds and play the line on my high C sounds really cool. andy
4. We have ourselves a Kilroy fan, clearly you cannot have an adequate discussion without juxtapositioning ad infinitum.
If you post that in every thread and you'll kill the site , back off
5. Ooh, I see potential for some heated discussions here. For me 4 holds the essence of what a bass guitar should be, it sits and fits perfectly and is the bass I feel I have most freedom on. 5 or more gives you extra range and more girth to your tone but for me it does come at the expense of some freedom as technique needs to be a little cleaner on my 5. I could not do without either my 4 or my 5, both provide different things and require a different approach to bass playing. But none is better or worse, just different. I used to have a guitar player that felt 4 was too simple and had the warped opinion that proficiency had some correlation with the amount of strings on your bass......... Wooten, Pastorius, Jamerson, McCartney, Flea all feel 4 is enough. And I have seen more than my fair share of bass players show up with 5,6 or even 7 string basses who would struggle with a 4.
6. They are great aren't they! Just replaced my PT with a trio 21 and am very happy. A little more work than velcro, but on the whole a really good system, tidy and sturdy.
7. Oooohhhh, got it wrong....... Well, apparently I like Fenders over Jake's, but there is next to nothing between themand the Jake has an extra pup and is clearly more economical. Nice.
8. Wow, indeed very evenly matched. Must admit the Maruszczyk name is growing on me. I think the 1st is the Jake and 2nd is the P, the 1st feels/sounds as if it may have the chambered body (resonance different), but on a recording it is very difficult to tell them apart.
9. RB1001 and 700 user here. I also had an MB, whilst it is a perfectly fine amp, comparing the RB to the MB..... no contest at all. RB clear victor on all fronts.
10. Orange OR 30 is pretty flexible as far as I can tell.
11. Okay, latest incarnation. Temple Audio Trio 21 replaced my Pedaltrain (no more velcro) and some other minor changes. Empty spot is for the B3K (I sold mine.. idiot.. and have had to replace it. Now on the board). The 3 COG pedals are Custom versions of a TK421X, A Grand Tarking and T65.
12. I have the Keeley Pro version, same basic design just more features, these compressors are excellent, very low noise, very musical, great build quality. I prefer the Keeley (DBX based) over the Cali's (UREI based), but whatever your preference this is an excellent compressor that can easily compete with Diamond, Cali, M87 etc.
13. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/the_visigoth/m.html?item=291459474969&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 I'm having the lanyard and Zulu VHS.
14. Good to see him back, take that Fender accountants.
15. Very nice, is the neck finished? Quite shiny.
16. Not my taste design wise, but these basses sound incredible and you don't see them for sale often.
17. Although compressed internet files will not paint an accurate picture it seems there is yet another great compressor with a decently small footprint and that is well suited for bass on the market. Cali Bass, Keeley Compressor Pro, this all seems to be getting a lot of praise. Good times! One thing I do notice is that the SS does not have clear labeling, that is pretty much a must for me wrt ratio, attack and release. Does the manual give clear instruction on that front?
