Hello all, I'm currently in Gravesend. Funnily enough the guy who came to fix my brake pads last night was saying disparaging things about Chatham.
now theres a surprise
So, hows the stolen laptop working out, you found your way onto basschat so the internet works...
crack converters assured me it was pukka innit
Probably a little more than your budget but these are monster basses build and tone wise. http://basschat.co.u...trans-dark-red/
+1 for the extra £95 will be well worth it
I'll clap the tube driver this morning then, when I arrive at my destination. If he's working.
you think he/she will notice while they're reading their copy of the sun?
True, but we're prepared to take that chance...
if they did i would just publish the contents of an email they sent me in repsonse to a 'tech support' enquiry - very friendly and polite response but about as useful as a chocolate teapot
+1 Those images are spot on.
as long as hartke dont sue my a55 for copyright of their image

thanks - i was wondering if there was any difference at all with the output etc its a pain in the ar5e to lug it in and out of the venue but its worth it for the tone and power without flogging the amp - not to mention the psychological oneupmanship over the guitarist with his little dual rectifier box
-
still confused can anybody explain in nice easy terms for me what the difference will be between these two configs (ive drawn a picture rather than try to explain it) am using hartke 2500 head + 410hydrive + 115xl thanks
I'd probably find that easier and more palatable than 25 blues numbers;)
+1 i can happily play both but i find chris squire's lines very easy to remember - blues stuff i find harder to learn and rememebr because the variations are more subtle

... and undoubtedly one of the best guitar talents to shine forth from our sceptered isle (despite the dodgy platforms) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boTY_7VYoYU
Also FWIW I once took a pair of basses to a recording session - a stock Squier Jazz strung with flats and a '91 Thumb bass with Rotos on it. I tracked everything on the Squier because I'd decided that was the sound I wanted and I'd only taken the Warwick as a backup. When the engineer saw the Warwick lying in the corner he looked worried as if someone else had left it there, and when I told him it was mine he asked me to re-track everything with that. In the end we used the Warwick track for one song and the Squier tracks for everything else. The engineer was pushing to use the Warwick tracks for everything but everybody in the band thought the Squier sounded more appropriate in most cases. I guess we weren't as swayed by the price tag as the engineer was.
sounds like a good argument for keeping the engineers in a room where they cant actually see what is going on in the studio - it would sort out the ones with good ears and good ideas from the brands bitches who just parrot fashion dial in the same old tones again and again
Shows how doss they are to sell the kit to a local muso shop!! Even most thieving scum will head off to Crack Converters or a pawn shop. Only ever had one thing nicked and that was an HH amp head (back in the day) nicked from a weekend residency venue. There was only one guy in Edinburgh who handled hot kit openly and I popped up at his shop on the Monday after the theft and there was the amp, complete with serial number and Dymod serial number from shop of purchase. The clown had even given his real name and address to the shop-owner so the cops lifted him. I never got the amp back cos the crook owner (Boston's, anyone??) said he'd bought it in good faith (right, mate!) and had paid well over the odds for it, or so his books said.Though I was a dole-mole heavy metal kid in those days I flatly refused to pay what the shylock was asking and borrowed amp heads until I got an Acoustic 330 at a good price.
if the police arrested the thief then they should have also recovered your stolen property from the shop and restored it to you - it is not the property of the shop owner even if he did buy it in good faith
I've always found Precision pickups really uncomfortable and unstable to rest on. Worse, in my soul band I end up putting so much pressure on the pickup that I'm constantly pushing it down into the foam and altering the gap between string and pickup. A thumbrest is a much better idea, IMHO.
totlally agree with the P pickup thing - fortunately for me my J and TRB have just the right pickups at just the right places for my right hand edit - you have stone cladding too!
I don't like thumb rests.
me too - isnt that what pickups are for???
