Oli Brown http://youtu.be/WJnM3haC-qo and this... not specifically known as a blues player but a great blues track nonetheless http://youtu.be/shb0_Tr5Mt4

 5.
I only managed to watch about the first 10 mins - it's sad to see a disease such as Parkinson's crippling both Barbara Thompson & Bill Worrall's music careers . It just goes to show that you can't take your health for granted in this life.
watch the rest! when you see the improvement in her after she begins taking medication using the pump it is frankly nothing short of staggering that she manages to go back on stage with colosseum aside from the PD i was absolutley blown away by the quality of her tone and her improvisational skills not to mention the composition and arrangements - undoubtedly one of countrys greatest musical talents
 6.
Two interesting observations there and subsequently. It might indeed be the case that some of those 'club' members are the sort of chap that spends long winter evenings scanning Russian Bride websites the better to curtail his extended virginhood. Yet could one not level the same inference at people who join Bass websites like - er - where we are now? My good friend Kevin laughs immoderately when I mention the name 'Basschat', yet colours with irritation when I poke fun at his membership of The Rover P5 Owners Club. Are most men not defensively obsessive about their interests and seek the company of the like-minded? Being of a generally sunny disposition, I tend to ignore the faint and possibly unintended whiff of exclusivity inherent in the term 'Club' and assume that the second observation is the case. That people simply wish to share a possibly unhealthy interest in specific details and - perhaps - to swap practical information such the availability of spare parts, Rover air filters or Muscovite divorcees, etc. If nothing else, by confining egregious geekery to a well-signposted enclosure, the disinterested may pass by in safety. Long live the clubs! .
it would seem that given the statistical superiority of TB, this also ensures that its engorged population will attracts a number of 'members' who think they are some sort of musical equivalent of a gnostic secret society

 18.
Given that 40% of the worlds cobalt is from the DR congo, and the ethical issues surrounding it, would you buy the new cobalt strings from Ernie Ball?
unless you have a reference to demonstrate the EB are sourcing their cobalt from said unethical places, then there is a slight flaw in the logic no?
 19.
As the members of the band are all very busy we have less time to put together new tunes. Current method is to all do as much homework as possible and then try to nail as many songs as possible when we get together. Normally these songs evolve during gigs and after 5 or 6 plays become ok. This method works ok but the songs never really develop into anything spectacular - they are polished and crowd pleasing but not very adventurous. Do you have any approaches/methods that can maximise rehearsal time and create inventive cover songs? Should we bother if the audience are happy with what they are already getting?
i 'try' and persuade the band the do some covers but not the obvious ones - you need to do stuff the crowd likes but instead of picking the two really obvious songs from a particular band (for example jailbreak , boys are back in town) go for a couple that everybody will still recognise but not the obvious choices - it creates that element of pleasant surprise when an old favourite is recognised and a sense of relief when its not bleedin smoke on the friggin water or alright now again also try some tunes that people of a certain age will recognise but unless they some sort of intergalactic pop quiz champion they will not know the title or band - good example of this would be something like this.... everybody has a fading memory of the riff when they hear it, hardly anybody dislikes it, and its a great litttle number to play http://youtu.be/J1XKdXXZjDc but definitely draw the line at SOTW but thats a whole different thread
 20.
The importance of friendship is not the issue here. Be adult about it and have the discussion with him. Breaking the band up and reforming it without him, new name or not, is not going to fool the guy, is it? You want to be professional about it then you have to deal with the issue, not mince around it. Its not like you are on the verge of the greatest record deal in history (if you were, by the way, the label would tell you to get rid of him)
or maybe they would keep him - who wants a band where everybody is totally happy families?? i bet even now there are A&R guys and Events Promotions scheming how they can plan the Robbie Williams v Gary Barlow blue collar cage fight - pay per view of course
 21.
Hah i was thinking of just programming the drums and having them out the PA. we're thinking we might just kill the band - then reform with another name (sadly!) in a few months time. If drummer doesn't get his act together. All these suggestions are great, but he's the kinda guy who will be totally upset by this. It may be cowardly but at least it keeps him from being totally destroyed
you could always have that pic printed on a tshirt for your next 'rehearsal'
