1.
This thread appears to be turning into a Jon Camp-fest. And why not.
that looks like the bbc2/radio1 sight&sound in concert gig ?
  2.
Certainly sounds like one! Bonkers version of the song - who is it by?
Esperanto is the band - italian i believe - 70s prog
  3.
White Punks @ The Fountain last night Not a well known song to many (unless they know The Tubes or have seen us in recent years) Didn't notice that I had set the video so that it missed me - though probably just as well. Funniest, and best part for so many reasons was that the bloke who had been dancing to a set of mixed fairly well known stuff interspersed with less known covers had said to the vocalist just before we got to this one "Can you play something we (for which of course read I) know". Steve introduced it with something like "Sorry but this isn't really going to help as you're a bit young" and then the crowd really went for it shouting out "White Punks" and going ape at the end.....which was particularly pleasing in the circs
nice cover!
  4. i think ilike the idea of the cheap and cheerful zigzag foam

  9.
Rush, Xanadu, from the Exit Stage Left film. Plus you get a double-neck thrown in for good luck.
if only mr peart had been playing TWO drum kits thatwould have been even better than everything turned up to eleven
  10.
i believe a name is what you make of it, if you make good music that stands out from the crowd or play to a high enough standard in the case of covers people will associate your name with your music or performance no matter what it is (within reason of course)
this i dont think names have to be descriptive necessarily unless you are so worried about your target audience being a bit dim exposure and association probably work better - get out there and start getting a good reputation and your band name will go around and become 'associated' regardless of it's linguistic connotations edit: but being overly quirky just for the sake and you might end up with the people not coming to see you for the first time becuase they think your band name makes you sound like a bunch of tw*ts (no personal offence intended) good band names usually always have a certain ring to them - serendipity usually plays a partin it somewhere - go with your intuition - not what your brain is telling you is funky or quirky or hip or even AMAZEBALLS
  11.
Oh gosh...if you thought that one was off the wall, have a look at this one! Blues?
They have all the sounds/gear and are well schooled in technique and expand some really nice ideas but to me the feel isn't really there. They are undoubtedly talented though, and I'm probably a bit jealous/harsh of them being very young but my critique is valid I think.
if you get the chance to see him live then its worth forking out for a ticket - dont be put off by the fact that his persona 'doesnt fit' the blues

  19.
I only managed to watch about the first 10 mins - it's sad to see a disease such as Parkinson's crippling both Barbara Thompson & Bill Worrall's music careers . It just goes to show that you can't take your health for granted in this life.
watch the rest! when you see the improvement in her after she begins taking medication using the pump it is frankly nothing short of staggering that she manages to go back on stage with colosseum aside from the PD i was absolutley blown away by the quality of her tone and her improvisational skills not to mention the composition and arrangements - undoubtedly one of countrys greatest musical talents
  20.
Two interesting observations there and subsequently. It might indeed be the case that some of those 'club' members are the sort of chap that spends long winter evenings scanning Russian Bride websites the better to curtail his extended virginhood. Yet could one not level the same inference at people who join Bass websites like - er - where we are now? My good friend Kevin laughs immoderately when I mention the name 'Basschat', yet colours with irritation when I poke fun at his membership of The Rover P5 Owners Club. Are most men not defensively obsessive about their interests and seek the company of the like-minded? Being of a generally sunny disposition, I tend to ignore the faint and possibly unintended whiff of exclusivity inherent in the term 'Club' and assume that the second observation is the case. That people simply wish to share a possibly unhealthy interest in specific details and - perhaps - to swap practical information such the availability of spare parts, Rover air filters or Muscovite divorcees, etc. If nothing else, by confining egregious geekery to a well-signposted enclosure, the disinterested may pass by in safety. Long live the clubs! .
it would seem that given the statistical superiority of TB, this also ensures that its engorged population will attracts a number of 'members' who think they are some sort of musical equivalent of a gnostic secret society
