1.
through which bad boys? the GK 4x10? cheers Bri
I was referring to Grubbs' Ashdown MAG... However the GK offerings are brilliant too if you can stretch the old cash margin!
2. Delicious! But I think that "guy" with the James May haircut is a woman
3. Out of those three i'd go for the Orange as well! Black pickguard too maybe?
4.
My pathetically small excuse for a pedalboard:
Looks like a great board to me dude! Though i'm sure you could squeeze two or three more in there
5. ^^^ Markbass F1 + SansAmp through one of those bad boys sounds awesome, and much lighter than an Ampeg rig ^^^
6. I actually like the sound of Markbass heads through cheaper cabs. Ashdown are nice and warm Not as efficient as the matching cabs though, so I personally would go for something bigger than a 2x10
7. With regards to the Ashdown stuff, it's the same as any piece of equipment, it just doesn't tickle everyone's fancy. Funnily enough even though I normally prefer super expensive amps I actually LOVE Ashdown MAG amps and cabs! We all have different things that we like, and also some basses work with some amps and not others. You might love your Precision through an Ampeg SVT but hate it through my Markbass rig! But you might try a Jazz and decide it only sounds good through a... line 6 30w combo I totally agree with the suggestions that you go to a shop and try your bass through a bunch of other amps and see if anything else really grabs you. In my opinion a bass FEELING good and playing well is more important than the tone, so if yiu're happy with how yours feels i would recommend keeping it Anyways I hope you do come to a solution that makes you 100% happy !
8. Stageclix gets my vote too, heard it, but I haven't got one yet! cheapest i've seen the Jack system at is £350. The Line 6 ones (g30, g50, and the other rackmount one) are amazing too, not quite as high quality or as convenient as the Stageclix but I would say they're as close as you're gonna get. The g30 is also quite a bit cheaper than Stageclix
9. EBS make great pedals, but if you're into heavy compression/limiting then the MultiComp just doesn't cut it
10. No worries, can I have some of that champagne then?
11. First instrument for me was the violin. Experimented with a few more including the trumpet, and the electric guitar before deciding it was bass all the way!
12. I've only heard Nordy Big Singles and they are incredibly aggressive pickups, can't comment on the other two
13. Bit of a long shot dude with the post being well over a year old 0.o
14. Laney R5... My first proper bass amp! Served me amazingly well for 4 years of gigging
15.
But ultimately,as long as you play the correct notes,no one gives a sh*t if you fret it or not. Muting shouldn't be a problem, and the tonal difference is secondary to the actual pitch in the vast majority of cases.
When it comes to my personal playing I totally agree, I go for whatever's easiest most of the time. Unless I'm accenting with a nice aggressive whack. I always prefer open strings for that
16. With some basses, open notes sound very different to fretted notes, and you have to be more careful with muting. i can't think of any more reasons at the mo
17.
I thought It started ok, the band seem good in their own way. All until the singer opens his gob and draws a c*ck over the whole thing. Bizzare they didnt boot him out after the first rehearsal. Maybe he's from a wealthy family, and bought all the sw***y gear. And those tattoo's aint cheap
Yep, the music side of the band is nothing to be sneezed at, he's just a massive arse head. It's even worse live!
18. I didn't like the first one, but wow Jack Conte is awesome! Thanks for posting
19.
Sorry, who is this?
Oli Sykes, from Bring Me The Horizon. Please don't punish yourself by digging any further!
20. This c**t
21. These are GREAT sounding basses, and incredibly sexy. The stock photo does it no justice
22.
You're in prison in some far flung bannana republic, and to win your freedom, the commandant has told you to excecute one of the fellow prisoners he drags from the cells. They are Johnny Borrell,Liam Gallagher, and Axl Rose. He pulls his service revolver from his holster and hands it to you. Sweet liberty is only moments away, until you realise the depths of your jailers sadism. There is only one bullet.....
They're all utter bellends, but at least Liam and Axl are in good bands
23. Thrashing out songs from the likes of Metallica, Kilswitch Engage, System Of A Down, Avenged Sevenfold, Machine Head, Alter Bridge, Slipknot, Stone Sour, Rage Against The Machine and many more! Come and have a beer or 10 for Easter Saturday
