1. Marshall Jackhammer pedals are also amazing on bass. Anything from a nice warm overdrive to full on rage! Incredibly versatile with its 2 band EQ and contour/freq knobs... Very cheap too! I actually got mine given to me for free I use mine after a Sansamp Bass Driver for maximum filth Also the Bass Big Muff... I don't think much to the sound on its own, but in a band mix it always goes down well, especially when playing old Metallica choons \m/

Behringer

Only piece of Behringer equipment I ever disliked was one of their bass cabs, mud city! Everything else of theirs has been well worth the money, and more, if you look after it
3.
I'm getting some prosteels for her so hopefully I should get a bit more clank that way. I could try adding some more presence as well though to help bring it out.
I love steels presence is good, but can add hiss... and can also make slight imperfections in technique stand out LOADS. Something I've battled with tirelessly! Sounds great as is though, I bet in a band mix that tone would destroy \m/
4. I like the sound, a lot! The Rectifier always sounds great on bass. I'd probably opt for an even more clanky initial attack sound on the clean blend, but thats literally a personal thing, and if i was to use it in one of my current bands
5. Poor Javier really wants a Squier Jazz! Hope you find one mate
6. Fretless bass, with medium jumbo frets thrown in free of charge! Bargain!
7. So wrong, yet strangely inviting!
8. Cort Artisans would be VW Polos, as they're more or less completely made of plastic
9. Alright Sallie I'm local too! It's never too late to start, and this forum is a great resource, ive learnt loads in the last year and a bit ive been here! Playing bass is great as generally the spotlight isn't on you (unless you want it to be!), so you can stand at the side of the stage quietly building your confidence
10. Is that THE Stingray? It certainly looks like it was worth all the hassle in the end mate
11. Aguilar will always be 'ag-will-arr' to me!
12. As long ad it doesn't affect your performance it's cool with me. I know I can't play pissed but I like to have a few beforehand if im not driving home later. I just make sure it's not a few TOO many!
13. Welcome Bassdriver! Your name makes me think of suggesting you the Sansamp pedal of the same name But actually it's a very modern sort of tone. You should try out the VT Bass instead It's pretty much an Ampeg sim sort of thing. Very good for vintage tones, and is also capable of some pretty extreme overdriven tones if you want them too!
14. How about this?
15. If you run the amp at full power you run the risk of overloading and damaging the amp or cabs, of course. You may get it to work fine, as long as you make absolutely sure you don't allow the speakers to distort (you'll probably be able to hear this)... But since the head is almost twice as powerful as the cabs are rated for, I personally wouldn't want to risk it mate. Good luck with whatever you decide to do though!
16. Black, Dark red, natural finish if its a dark wood with nice grain
17. I still think a Sansamp would be a good one. I've still got mine so it must be doing something right!
18. Definitely a knackered speaker there dude! It sounds like you're using a fuzz pedal... I haven't heard of any of the new Hartke stuff having QC issues so you've either the victim of the unluckiest coincidence in the history of bass cabs, or the shop have indeed given you the same cab again. I would take it back to the shop one more time, and consider contacting Hartke customer support.
19. Mornin' mate, and welcome! Don't worry about boring anyone by rambling about bass stuff on here, we all do it
20.
I'll record some later for you. Any settings preferences? Passive or active bass?
Nice one dude. I play passive but I'm sure active bass samples would help a lot of guys out too
21. Thanks for going out of your way to record samples and even comparisons bartleby, will check these out tonight! What are your thoughts on the Sansamp model?
22. Unsociable hour bump. Anybody wanna make me an offer?
23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KupV1jGbxFQ This is not Morbid Angel as I remember it.. And the death metal purists HATE it, but not being one of those I think it's pretty cool
24.
...only an advantage to those directly in front of it...
Call me unprofessional or un-musicianlike, but as long as I am happy with what I hear and am enjoying the gig, f*** everyone else
