2. Hi guys, I am selling a pair of Gallien Krueger bass speakers, 10" 100w 16 ohm 60 hz, practically new. I swapped with neodymiums so these not needed anymore, however they are great speakers. 3.
I had a similar problem a few years ago - seemed like one of the pairs in one of the pickups (you've essentially got four coils in total, each sensing a pair of strings) was wired internally out of phase...or the magnetic polarity of one pair of strings was the wrong way round. Never did work it out but the dealer replaced them, no hassle and the replacements were fine. My guess is someone was too careful when they were mounting the magnets...so each pickup sounds fine on its own, but weird things happen when you mix pickups listening to the same string. See if you can test the magnetic polarity...that's about as much as I can help! If there is a problem, it could be as easy as flipping the bar magnet on the bottom (if you can unstick it).
Bassbod, thanks a lot for your reply. I also had both basses tested by the guys at the Bass Gallery, and they said everything appears to be ok. The thing is, the problem is exactly the same on both basses, so if the problem is what you suggest, that would mean that both sets of pickups have the same defect..
 4. Hi guys, I have 2 DiMarzio PJ DP126 sets mounted on 2 of my basses, and I am experiencing a weird problem with them: each pickup sounds fine individually, but when blended together, the tone between the lower and the higher strings changes dramatically; while the E and A sound perfectly fine, the D and G sound really "honky", with an extra amount of mid frequencies - probably centered around 1k - which make them really unpleasant. Of course the different position of the coils of the P pickup has a role in this, however the effect if very dramatic, unlike other PJ I have played. It sounds like it's being greatly magnified by some electronic conflict or something. The pickups are wired correctly, and are part of a passive system. The problem is exactly the same on both basses, which are identical. I have also spent a few hours with one of London's top guitar repairers, but he couldn't find a solution. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this, and what a possible solution could be ? Thanks a lot, Silvio
 5. Hi, I wonder if anyone can confirm this for me: I have a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 head (375w @8ohms, 600w @4ohms); I am thinking of getting 2 GK cabs (115MBX and 210MBX), both rated 200w @8ohms. If I set the master volume at just below 12 o'clock, will it work well either with 1 or 2 cabs ? Will the head feed the cab(s) properly and not damage them ? Thanks.
 6. I know the feeling, cash problems are the only reason I am selling it really It's a great instrument, top quality components and construction, and it's very versatile. I've used it on sessions, tours, West End shows, etc.., it always sounds like a million bucks and never gave me the slightest problem The idea of selling it is not appealing at all
I Like the look of that very much! no spare cash unfortunately though
7. Absolutely beautiful Yamaha Nathan East signature 5 strings bass !! This is the original series bass that Nathan East has played on countless records, concerts and festivals with Eric Clapton, Phil Colllins, etc.. Here are some of the exclusive features: alder body with figure maple top, finished in beautiful translucent blue; maple neck with ebony fingerboard (24 frets with abalone block markers); 2 special Alnico double-coils with active electronics (Yamaha's exclusive Active-5 controls) gold-plated hardware. A true quality bass guitar, extremely versatile too. The instrument is in good condition; has some wear & tear, normal for its age - the main wear is some paint missing on the back, in the bolts area, which is NOT visible when you play - otherwise the bass is in perfect working order. I regret having to sell it due to adverse financial circumstances (wish I didn't have to !!). It looks and sounds fabulous !! Comes with the original hard case I bought it with. The bass is in North London. £ 800 ono Get it NOW before I change my mind !!!!
