  1. Get in the sea.
  2. Good question! I'd like to know that too. Never owned a Thumpinator but I can see why it might be a good idea.
  3. It's just one of those really subjective things where no explanation will help. You don't understand it like I don't understand the perverts who put pineapple on pizza!
  4. Your personal opinion has no bearing on the personal opinion of other players. That's it.
  5. I like the Digitech Polara for bass reverb. Very happy with it.
  6. Firmware updates have helped it enormously. I think a lot of the problems people have with it is they don't read the instructions. They say do a scan every time you use it. Even in familiar places. The unit will pick the clearest freq. Then it works as well as any other wireless I've had. The scanning only takes 15 seconds or so. Funnily enough I had a few dropouts at home and then slowly noticed they were when my ancient tumble dryer was on! I have no idea why that was a issue but it was. As with all wireless systems you've got to have a cable handy as a backup.
  7. Every Saturday I play big band with my DG amp.
  8. Superb reading skills. You can’t bluff in that environment when the client changes arrangements on the fly.
  9. He's quite famous on many guitar forums. Legend in his own cell.
  10. It does react well to my B3K. I only use a little, just for a bit of grit.
  11. Now I’ve had it almost a week, I’m loving it. Almost to the point I’m wondering about selling my M900. P bass with flats needs very different EQ to my Sandberg, and the super low control is great for removing low end mud. Haven’t used the new parametric control a lot yet as I’m getting what I want with the regular EQ. I might get the footswitch so I can turn the EQs on and off for swapping basses. The gold knobs do need a different colour marker in them though. The position dots are just a gold indent and they disappear in any type of light.
  12. The first error was lending gear. The second was actually leaving the venue without it. Who does that?
  13. Where did you get the clear ramp from? I'd like to get one for my Sandberg.
  14. I realise bassists are supposed to be in the background. But they don't have to be invisible! The only thing on the Mesa I like are the knobs. Very easy to see under stage lights. The new Red and Gold Markbass does suffer a bit on that score.
  15. Of course I get that, and I realised that before I posted. Many people seem obsessed with the look of their gear over the performance. However that Mesa ^ up there somewhere, man it looks dull. It's just another black box with controls on it.
  16. That's lovely! If only they weighed under 8lb !
  17. Far too heavy for me to consider even if they had the best sound in the universe!
  18. It’s safe to say the slap tone is immense. Ive got a big band arrangement of Uptown Funk and it just wallops through like an anvil launched by a cannon. Love it! Touch of compression in it now stops me scaring the children!
  19. New amp arrived. First thought - ye gods it is punchy! Way more punchy than my Darkglass. To the point that I will be compressing the shite out of it! Far punchier than any other Class D head I've owned. It's hefty! Second thought - ye gods is it loud! Third thought - Fan noise is louder than my Darkglass, but I am trying to relax about such things as in the house I most often use my Helix and studio monitors, and when I'm playing with a drummer nobody will care. And the most important thing to those who think MB amps look child-like... it looks like Iron Man. So you are wrong. Very different tone to the Darkglass of course. Only had 5 mins with it at lunch time so far, with my Sandberg Super Light, but those Marcus tones are there, and more old fashioned is easy to dial in too. Not a sterile sound either, just clear and warm. I'll try my P bass with flats later. Alas the big band only meets during term times so I've got to wait until September before I get to play it with the band. Looking forward to it though!
  20. Thank you. This has me thinking!
  21. Do the low B's work at 32 inch scale?
