  1. Those are from a year ago. Considering the amp has a new name and the back of the amp has now been printed up I'd imagine the year old idea is out of date.
  2. Of course - but that doesn't mean older units suddenly sound worse. Eventually they don't get updated and they just sound the same. Just like analogue pedals that never change.
  3. Very nice! I keep dropping hints to the wife so she can save up for my 50th birthday - I really fancy the Will Lee model. Can't see it happening though - my 50th will be roughly the time I'm having to find money for the kids to go to university.
  4. My G70 is on my board. It also has a tuner in it.
  5. The rumours of a new Helix might be because of the HUGE amount of facebook traffic wondering when the next software update is - it was supposed to drop last week but it's not ready. That will be version 2.8. The mods on the main group now shut down every thread asking about it, because there are hundreds of eijits asking every day! But it's not hardware round the corner - it's another (free) software update.
  6. Helix is not being replaced for a while. Line 6 are currently doing a massive Core program rebuild for it that is due to land at the end of this year. They wouldn't be doing that if a new machine was expected in the next 12 months. They are also planning to make the Stomp have more capabilities too - by updating the Software - although there is no time line for that. The whole point of the Helix system is that patches can be moved between many of the units and into the Native plug-in version too. Join the main Helix facebook group - the developers post there all the time. Of course there will be a new one at some point and the usual people will complain about the original being obsolete. And yet the day after the new one lands the old one will still sound as awesome as it did the day before. And you'll be able to get a spare for buttons. It's a fantastic unit for bass - far better than the other 2 top line modellers. The lead guys on the Helix are bassists too. Probably has something to do with it. The next update (2.8) will have a few new bass items in it. The Ampeg SVT4-Pro and the Tech 21 BDD if I recall correctly. It already has more bass amp options than the other units. And with the parallel pathways every effect can be used with bass perfectly by clean blending. Never lose the low end with it!
  7. Just had an email from GK - I had asked them about the fan cooling and the volume of it. It's temp controlled and runs very slowly until it gets run hard. That is music to my ears!
  8. When the GK's land I might have to go to Andertons. They stock all 3, but at the moment the EBS is showing as being for Order only. If I have cash in my pocket and tell them I will be leaving with one of the amps, I wonder if they'll get the EBS in so I can do a proper comparison between the DG M900 V2 and the other options. Take my Sandberg and a BF cab down with me, maybe.
  9. The EBS sounded pretty good to me, but I also thought the GK had something in the lows that was a bit more grunty. Obviously difficult to tell from youtube. I've never owned an EBS or a GK so I might have to try them both. As usual finding a shop that sells both and has both in stock will be a nightmare! I do like the GK drive on the demo though. That was very nice. Quite different in character to the DG amp.
  10. Do you know the weight please?
  11. Screen grab from YT of the 800W So it's 400W at 8ohms, and the full 800W at 4ohms, 2,7, and 2 ohms. So following that the 500W must be about 250W at 8ohms, but full 500W at 4 / 2.7 / 2
  12. Are you sure that's right? Unlike most bass heads, the back of these actually has a settings switch depending on what cab is connected. Why go to the bother of that if the amp hasn't been built to give max power to all impedance cabs?
  13. Andertons are saying these will land at the end of July. I am going to wait until then until I decide on a new amp. I keep replaying the demo. Sounds great.
  14. The G70 and 75 are claimed at 1.5ms I think that’s the lowest I’ve ever seen quoted.
  15. Some can be a bit sensitive if the transmitter is very close to the bass - like the Smooth Hound and other "bug" systems. Easily solved by using a 30 cm extension cable on the bug and mounting the bug on your strap like a bigger pack would be.
  16. Scan every time you use it. Even when returning to the same place. I had similar issues with my G70 (same guts as the G75). Sometimes I needed channel 11 and sometimes channel 1. The difference was an ancient tumble dryer being on or not!
  17. Yup. Ive got a Smooth Hound and a Line 6. I even use it in the house. Stops cable related arguments with the wife!
  18. Old Roland Bass Cube 30. About £150 on ebay and sound fantastic.
  19. @warwickhunt Thank you. Will the amp do a proper Marcus Miller sound? Proper thumpy but clear?
  20. The Thunderfunk that is in the classifieds has me interested. I note from the manual that the TB 550-B can be run all the time without the fan, but I also found an old thread saying that the fan must be on if it is racked. Is that right? I like the idea of being able to turn the fan off at low volume - but how hot does the casing get? Enough to burn skin or be painful?
  21. Apparently the new ones have MB own power amp rather than the same unit everybody else uses but it’s still class D. The Little Marcus series is on try my list as the EQ is far better than the regular LM series.
  22. Barefaced One10 spend the other £600 on a head you like. Markbass Little Marcus, used Darkglass, Ampeg pf 500, loads of options. That cab will do low B easily.
  23. I’ve got some nice Nike ones that have lasted 10 years so far. i bet I spent less than you did over that time.
  24. Just let them dry. Binning them is a huge waste!
  25. Wrist bands and GHS fast fret
