On the same rehearsal / gigs I will also be playing in other ensembles including the big band. I’m not taking two amps so whatever I get it needs to do it all.

I use a singe Barefaced One10 with a big band that has 25 people in it - horns / reeds / drums / piano. Powered with a Darkglass M900. So yes - it can be plenty. Depends on use and what you are fighting with.

Selling the now discontinued and rather hard to find Mr Black Gilamondo. It's a Phaser, Jim, but not as you know it. The secret is in the BONUS knob which does all manner of things to a normal phaser sound. It's in excellent condition with the box and the paperwork Here's a demo by PGS Andy: It's a brilliant phaser for guitar and bass. Looking for £120 including signed for delivery in the UK ta

Couldn't find a feedback thread for @MarkE so here it is! Mark bought my Precision, and all went perfectly. Good to meet you!

These are great. The V1 Anyway, which this is. Really good and dirt cheap too! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Danelectro-Cool-Cat-Fuzz-CF-1-V1-Frantone-Peach-Fuzz-Clone-Big-Muff-Style/401795822467?hash=item5d8ce5b383:g:wFQAAOSw1UFdEmcD

Have they got Uk dealers? Their site is a bit thin on details like that.

To YouTube! got some demos to listen to!

Good point. Although I sold my AO pedal. Wasn’t the tone I wanted. I like the B3K drive best.

I’ve got a DG M900. i like it a lot. A huge amount in fact. But I also like variety. I’ve been emailing Ashdown about fan noise on the ABM 600 Evo iv and they’ve informed me it can be modified so the fans only come on at a certain temperature. That means I can use it without any fan noise when I play with 1 or 2 woodwind instruments at low volume. I am very tempted by this. However before I take the plunge, what other modern proper hefty power section amps should I be looking at? Nothing stupid heavy like Aguilars / SVT etc, but stuff of equivalent size and weight to the Ashdown. all ideas welcome!

The demo sounds very nice. Might put them on the list.

2 small and no doubt noisy fans. Bah. I like GK stuff but why doesn't anyone do proper passive cooling anymore with fins on the back? Do Class D amps get hotter than old iron amps?

Every time you buy a cd with tracks you haven’t heard in the radio. Every film you’ve gone to see at the cinema, or bought as a preorder.

Both. Perfectly balanced and 9lb is too heavy for me. Perfectly balanced and 6.8lb like my Sandberg is amazing!

I have the Mk1 version of the Darkglass M900. I love it. It's a superb amp. But GAS being GAS - does anyone own a Mk1 and Mk2? Are there differences that make it worth an upgrade? Aside from the Compressor for example - although being able to leave a pedal behind would be good. I see on the new ones the Fan is now reactive rather than 1 speed all the time. Is it noticeably quieter at TV watching volumes? I'm thinking about expanding the amp collection and the Mk2 and the MB Little Marcus 800 are both on the list. I will be keeping the existing M900 whatever. I did look at the Ashdown ABM 600 for a bit of big iron heft but frankly the fan noise is stupid and I'd end up burning it with a day of owning one. Shame really as it sounds great. Has anyone got both the Mk1 and the Mk2 and can compare them objectively? ta

Ti flats are definitely just red silks. They only do one gauge anyway.

When was the last claim against YOUR insurance?
fretmeister replied to Happy Jack's topic in General Discussion
Not as bad as you think from that point of view - now there is "Fundamental Dishonesty" a claimant taking the fosters can be found in contempt and can be jailed. And that's happened a couple of time. -
When was the last claim against YOUR insurance?

QOCS can make a claim more likely if a claimant knows the potential defendant is uninsured. I have seen a couple of formal Letters of Claim that do the usual "Pass this to your insurers to deal with. If you haven't got insurers then you may not be aware that even if you defend this claim you will still have to pay your own legal fees due to QOCS..." then going on to explain what QOCS is. It adds pressure on defendants to settle when perhaps they shouldn't on the facts of the case. I have no doubt there will be a few claimants out there trying it on precisely because the risks to them are now smaller - with a bit of an exception that if a claimant is found to be "fundamentally dishonest" in making the claim or part of the claim then the QOCS protection can be removed by a Judge. But that's a tough thing to achieve.
