Nearly always fingers butif not 1mm Tortex shaped as above for bass and g**tar. Best ones I found have a star shaped hole in the middle and never slip.

I'm really looking forward to this and happy to pay in advance once instructed. As mentioned elsewhere in this thread I'm happy to bring my tools along and help anyone with instrument setups and advice for newbies. Whilst not a professional lutheran (yet ) I have been working on my own and friends instruments for years and would be pleased to help with re-stringing, intonation, truss rod and action adjustments; bring your own strings. I may dig out an old but surprisingly playable Hohner Precision copy which has been mouldering away in the back of a dank dark cupboard for years for people to practice on/demonstrate. If anyone else has an old plywood bass or g***ar bring it along to fiddle and fettle. Mike

I bought WHUFC's SX Precision. I'm so pleased with it. It's great He's a really nice guy, very helpful, a pleasure to deal with and let me try his other basses over a cup of tea while I was there. Sorry I inadvertently stole his pick though !

Think I'll bring my, recently purchased from WHUFC on here, my SX '62 precision-alike because its really nice.

I had a Tribute GL2000 with maple neck. Great bass. The only downside was the quality of the pots. Mine started playing up not long after I bought it new. I've heard others with the same problem. The shop that I bought them from swapped mine for US Mighty Mite ones and it was lovely from then on. You could do it yourself but it's a bit tricky soldering as it's all a bit tight in there.

I haven't much i the way of exciting toys to bring. I have a us Jazz bass, A peavey TL5 (Tim landers signature) and a markbass CMD102p if any one wants a go on any of these. If not I'll just come and bring myself. Happy to help out on any advice for setting up instruments for newbies as mentioned above somewhere. I can bring my feeler gauges screwdrivers and allen keys if it helps!
