1. Masking tape between the frets and liquid brasso (it's not abrasive). Use the same bit of cloth and very little polish and it works a treat I've also polished up and removed marks from g**tar frets using 400 grade wet and dry followed by 0000 wire wool and then finished with the Brasso. Time-consuming but silky smooth frets. I've read that you can use Brasso on varnished maple fret boards too but not tried this and it sounds a bit messy.
2.
Apologies, but I've only just caught this thread. You're welcome to my route home, but you might not escape alive. It's great music to play but you just don't get the groupies. I think, after reading The Dirt, I'd settle for Motley Crue.
Just seen this on Partysounds and thought of you: MOTLEY CRUE TRIBUTE BAND 'THE DIRT-PUBLIC ENEMY NO 1' NEED A BASSIST ASAP, GOOD EQUIPMENT AND TRANSPORT ESSENTIAL. Cambridgeshire East Anglia Standard: Semi-Pro
3. We do Our House and It must be love as per the originals. Nothing tricky about the tunings at all. there are some resonably accurate tabs here to get you started. http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/madness_tabs.htm

11. My band Plan C played a short set at Leigh Regatta today. I just had to take bass and lead and used a nice big Ashdown ABM rig curtesy of a fine bass chap from Malachi the first band on. First gig with our new keyboard player Simon. Went really well. It was lovely sunny day, nice people and top seafood stalls;lovely cockles. The kids came along too. What's not to like?
12. This morning I found myself staring into the bathroom cabinet with an electric toothbrush in my hand trying to remember what I was looking for... toothpaste of course. Oh dear!
13. That's my Sunday evening taken care of then

16.
I know what you mean, I'm by no means a fan of Abba, but some of the bass lines are excellent
They sure are. We used to play Dancing Queen in my old band.
17. It's actually a really good bass part, (played brilliantly by Dioon Estus), but I can't get that George Michael/Lady Di hair out of my mind's eye while trying to learn it.
18.
I have hit the limiter on my old LM2 at 300w - where it wont go any louder, so just would prefer the full 500w headroom
Jeez youmust be so loud
19. Anyone have an accurate tab for this so I don't have to keep listening to it please?
20. That's very nice. I want one
21.
i have noticed if i take off the strings for any work on the bass they sound brighter for a bit when i put them back on this leads me to think that coiling and coiling them several times with the application of a string cleaner may help to ease out dirt, sweat and skin cells string coatings imho are a step forward but i have seen elixirs exhibiting breakdown in the coating on the well rubbed fretted section maybe trapping sweat etc in boiling i feel is a no way situation with water just dying to corrode the wraps and core better with an inert light cleaner with lubricating qualities...i havent tried fast fret...but coud asssume meths would do the job what is generall known as trike was a favourite for cleaning engine parts when i used to spend my life doing bike engines. just a thought TRIKE
Isn't Trich carcinogenic?
22. What is it you don't like about fast fret Pete? I've just tried Ernie Ball Regular Slinky over Rotosound Swing Bass s/s which I've used since I was an egg. Much nicer feel but can't comment on longevity yet. String prices,I use Strings Direct, seem to have shot up drastically from around £13- £18 for a set of four since I last bought a set. I'd like to try DR's but I can't afford them!
23. I find that the CMD102p does everything I need in my covers band.
24. Very nice bass Molan. I'd like one of these
25.
Wow that a bassline Z x
Great isn't it? Should be easy for a player of your calibre after learning Rhythm Stick!
