1. I had a Tribute GL2000 with maple neck. Great bass. The only downside was the quality of the pots. Mine started playing up not long after I bought it new. I've heard others with the same problem. The shop that I bought them from swapped mine for US Mighty Mite ones and it was lovely from then on. You could do it yourself but it's a bit tricky soldering as it's all a bit tight in there.
 2. Good for getting started on new songs. Thanks Pete

 6. I haven't much i the way of exciting toys to bring. I have a us Jazz bass, A peavey TL5 (Tim landers signature) and a markbass CMD102p if any one wants a go on any of these. If not I'll just come and bring myself. Happy to help out on any advice for setting up instruments for newbies as mentioned above somewhere. I can bring my feeler gauges screwdrivers and allen keys if it helps!

 11. Peavey do seem to be good at growl. I have a late 90's USA Peavey TL5 signature that I picked up for a snip on ebay . I think that the electrics are a forerunner of the cirrus and the mid sweep knob means that you can go from thump to growl really easily. My only criticisms are that the stacked pots are a bit flaky and the it has a big chunky old neck (34'' scale), which is fine when you get used to it, with a nice string spacing and low action. Haven't tried a new cirrus to compare but would imagine that they're quite different.
 12. I'd behappy to pony up the dough ie ten quid in advance if we have a date that I can do and a venue

 17.
Yeah, but let's blame the bald guy anyway!
Absolutely see what happens when you give a drummer the microphone. He's always struck me as being a complete git. Good drummer though especially with Brand X
 18.
I loved Tormato when I was 16ish too. And Drama. TFTO is a different matter
My name's Mike an I liked Yes in 1979 when I was 16-ish too (although I never would have admitted it then) and still do. Had all their albums and all individual members solo albums, including Olias of Sunhillow; Oh dear! up until Tormato. Also saw them 3 times. Thank you for helping me finally admit that sildxx. Going to spotify Relayer now
 19. Thanks for sharing this. What a great rhythm section. For me Steve Hackett leaving was the final nail in Genesis' coffin and [s]then there were 3[/s] then they became the Phil Collins band. Aah Wings; the Band the Beatles could of been
 20. Must have been some player to try this in it's original unopened packaging.
 21. A few years ago when I played g**tar in a blues band we used to rehearse in a pub in Cambridge. I got home late and tired after a good sesh and natter in the carpark. On unloading the car about 11:30pm I noticed with a feeling of shock quickly followed by nausea the Fender Lonestar Strat luxury guitar case shaped space on the backseat of my car. I'd put it down while chatting and left it in the carpark in the dark and driven off. Quickly phoned the pub and after a few rings, which felt like an hour the barman said " Hi Mike,Yep it's here". Oh boy was I worried and very relieved to pick it up the next day.
 22.
We do Sledgehammer. I must admit I've not heard any other cover bands play it.
So do we. i've played this in 2 bands now
 23.
Here it is. I've played this many times over the years and it's a great bass line. I've used a hybrid of tab & notation so you get the rhythm correct. It's quite easy to learn. Once you've got the pattern you can work out the key change easily enough. Enjoy. BTW I have also looked for a tab out of curiosity and there isn't one.
Great tab I've really enjoyed playing this in a previous band too.
 24.
As in "Some Like it Hot"?
25.
Interesting. I'm listening to Fragile by Yes, and reading Bill Bruford's autobiography, both of which are excellent.
A really good read isn't it. The yes and Robert Fripp anecdotes are my favourites.
