1. Could I learN that solo? No... Can I respect it, oh yes!
2. OMG! A thread I can join in with lol... The sofa we bought the week before we got married, still love lounging on it. The bass is a fleabay 'bitsa', the only one I could afford at the time.
3. I get to see lots of bands as a semi-pro photographer in the Colchester area. It means I get into the venue during the sound check before the doors are opened to the public too. I always find myself watching the bass player and listening intently to what they are playing. As a fairly new bass player - they are all better than me. However, I get to hear so many different styles in one night I count myself lucky. Whoever you are, keep playing - maybe I'll take your photo one day lol.
4. Thanks again guys. Lonestar, I'll add it to my calendar but I'll have to see what I'm doing nearer the time. Thanks for the link though.
5.
We're looking for people to give our marketplace economy a bit of a kick start...? I've got a Mexican Jazz you can have for £3,000 - and that's a basschat only price that
Oooooh! I'll take two! lol
6. Thanks guys, I'm looking at the bootcamp aswell as what my tutors giving me! I cant believe I got so many welcomes (or is it a case of 'new meat' lol).
7. Phew lol, thanks for all the friendly welcomes.
8.
I dunno, might mean less work for me!! Welcome Peds, what's the story behind the name? ped
I was working in the jungles of Central America for six months delivering medical supplies on foot. As you can imagine there we didn't have much to keep us occupied so we had a moustache growing competition lol. So someone called me 'Pedro the Spaniard' after the biggest, droopiest 'tash you can imagine was on my face! That got shortened to Peds eventually, now everyone calls me it. How did you get it? (I'm going to look really silly if it's your Christian name!) Peds
9. So you're saying it's a copy 3below? Is this common that people make copies of 'popular' makes? Thanks Happy Jack, the body is not smooth at all but very grainy to the touch! It looks very much like yours Beno, is the addition of a serial number 'proof' that it's genuine Fender? jeez, I've got a lot to learn lol... Thanks to everyone who's chipped in so far though. Peds
10. Thanks bh2... It plays well enough now I've adjusted to suit me and my tutor says it plays just fine. I'd just like to find out more about it, I'm not sure it's a genuine Fender - so what is it?
11. Hi everyone, I read with interest all the help that people put forward to an earlier post like this. So I wondered if anyone could shed some light on this bass. I bought if off fleabay for £200, as a virtual beginner this was my budget and I'm the first to admit that I don't know much about them. My tutor says it plays well but he couldn't say exactly what it is. All we can say is that someone seems to have put this together to make it 'look' like a Fender P Bass. Thanks in advance for any light shed on this. Peds
12. Hi everyone, I'm very new to playing bass. After starting (and stopping) during an illness seven years ago I decided to start again just last month. So I'm now armed with a 'bitza'Fender from e-bay, a Fender amp and a tutor - I'm making a better effort this time! I'll probably spend more time reading than posting but I'm here to learn from you guys too. Peds
