  1. An online radio station - DKFM:Shoegaze Radio Great stuff, it's a fave of mine.
  2. Interested to see how this turns out, my first bass was a Hohner Arbour in the same Sparkle finish. And yes....not wire wool !
  3. Sounds like you put the V-Type through its paces. So glad you're enjoying it. Nice Wals btw.
  4. Double post !
  5. Ian bought my Trace Elliot preamp, lovely chap. He drove down from the West Midlands to pick it up and we had a very enjoyable hour or so, chatting about basses and gear. Excellent comms all the way and paid up front, what a star. Don't hesitate in dealing with him if you get the chance.

    -klahoma !
  7. Fantastic basses. GLWTS.
  8. It can't - the noise is supposed to make people notice the scooter.
  9. Bought a fretless neck from Derek. If ever there was a Teflon-coated deal, this was it. Smooth as silk. Derek kept me updated and the neck arrived superbly packaged. Many thanks
  10. Maybe it's so your ashtray doubles as a joss stick holder.
  11. CH Guitars have a maple fretless neck on their website https://chguitars.co.uk/product/nk34-half-paddle-maple-maole-fretless-4-string-bass-guitar-neck/ Ah, but it's 38mm nut width.
  12. I'd not heard of the Couch ones, shame - as you say - you've got the shipping to factor in. This is the style of Right On one I got - The design worked into the top is really groovy and it's very comfortable.
  13. Very much so. I've got a Right On strap as well, very impressive.
  14. Say what you want about the war, but people knew how to enjoy themselves back then.
  15. I've shared kit at a lot of the gigs I've done, in fact I'd say the majority of gigs have involved in some sharing. I'm not aware of any problems my bandmates have had, and none of my equipment has ever been damaged, and I was bought many a pint as thanks.
  16. I've never needed a spare bass at any kind of gig, pub or otherwise.
  17. Flange used to need analogue tape, and then boffins squished that into a pedal Now we're got, say, multiband distortion in a box, when it would have taken maybe different amps and mics and pedals to create that. So whilst I don't think there are any really new effects, the technology is allowing a people to squeeze a whole studio into something the size of a few fag packets and that's where new sounds are coming from.
  18. When I was looking around at the specs, most retailers who give the nut width (why doesn't everyone ?) agree with you at 1⅝".
  19. I still haven't felt the need to pick up any bass except my SB-2 since I got it, just under 3 months ago. I'm still amazed by it.
  20. Fuzzdog make a kit called the Dirt Dessert which is a version of the Prunes and Custard.
  21. It just looks tacky.
