  1. They are indeed wonderful basses.
  2. It will as it happens - check out post #29 here. The pickup is asymmetrical, but a very easy job to flip it as you said. Sorry to hijack :)
  3. Deffo. GLWTS.
  4. Ah, another part of the story - I didn't know that, thanks. It does rather just add to the 'meh' somewhat :) But yes, the 'mojo' associated with certain types or makes of pedals is quite staggering sometimes...much like the 'magic' LM308 chip. However...good news for those who have stuff to flog and can find a mojo-eyed buyer waiting with cash !
  5. There's a lot of mystique about various issues of Rats. I sold a 'Woodcutter' Rat a while back for a song just because a certain chap who made them ('Woodcutter') made better Rats...from the same components as everyone else who made them. There you go Anyway, original Whitefaces can go for up to £200 in good condition IIRC.
  6. Oooh, they're naked. 🧐
  7. Foam and duct tape WTF !
  8. Where are my cryo-treated, degaussed, carbon fibre ears ?
  9. Bougth a NUX Melvin Lee Preamp from Pete and he's a total gent The pedal's in great condtion. He wrapped it stylishly, but very securely, and kept me updated all the way with tracking info. Echoing all the above, don't hesistate to deal with him if you get the chance.
  10. You have a message. The private kind.
  11. Well spotted ! The headstock was the only thing that made me doubt my Westone suggestion - it looked a bit too curly. Now I see why. Many thanks
  12. Anyone be able to identify the bass Colin Angus is playing in this video ? This springs from a late-night discussion with a guitarist friend of mine. To me it looks closest to a Westone, but he reckons something like a Kay. There's a good view at 2.25 - 2.38.
  13. I like it, but not any of the finishes. It needs to look like a spaceship ! Sorry - more like a spaceship
  14. You're getting some fantastic sounds out of both ! Thanks for the vid.
  15. As long as the, um......'content' was up to scratch
  16. It's a mandrel they use to get Sting's head out of his @rse so he can sing.
  17. No, sadly not. Sorry, but you do understand of course.....standards my dear boy....standards.
  18. It's Cottagecore. It's very now.
  19. Another vote for neck dive (Even if you can 'fix it with a broad strap' it's still an badly balanced instrument and that bugs the hell out of me.) Pretend wear Hugely figured body woods - they're gauche and should calm down
  20. The P-bass for me, it sounds friendlier. The Stingray sounds good, but is just more...aloof.
  21. Hey, nice work - it looks like new !
  22. Yes, I got the sound of an 'L' too. I can almost hear a vowel sound at the beginning, like there's three syllables but the first is very quiet. Estatlin' is the nearest approximation I can get.....not that that really helps
