  1. It's certainly one of the least pleasing things you can do to a bass to make it make a noise as far as I'm concerned.
  2. I really like the videos that Josh Scott does and he's outdone himself here I think.
  3. Why would they ? Guitar groups are on the way out
  4. How fast ? About the same BPM as the drummer. It's smiles all round, in my experience.
  5. Well, I got them second-hand, but the chap at Catswhisker was very helpful. What can I say, they sound really good, totally hum cancelling and I'm going to get another pair for one of my other jazzes soon.
  6. I've got a pair of Catswhisker humbucking single coils in my Geddy Lee - no real loss of top end that I've noticed.
  7. Just imagine where the whammy bar would be.
  8. That's great, nice work getting it back on its feet again, and with a bit of cool history as well.
  9. A quick fix that works for you with the materials you had to hand ? 👍
  10. According to EICH: "The XL Cab offers a “sensual” experience on its own." Chikka-wah-wah.
  11. Aw, it's only a bit of fun. Fun Fun Fun
  12. My wife is quite happy for me to buy basses and quite often actively encourages me to buy instruments I like. I've just bought a new G&L, with her very vocal encouragement. Your Matrimony May Vary
  13. Perfect for Zoom pedals.... No ? ...I'll get my cape.
  14. They are by no means essential, not by a long chalk. If you've tried a few and haven't got anywhere pleasing with them then it's possible you don't need one in your setup.
  15. I wouldn't mind. The ears I use are hand-me-downs anyway.
  16. You could try Gemini Pickups, I've got a few of their pickups and I really like them. If you're after hum-cancelling models, Catswhisker Pickups do some that I'm very impressed by.
  17. Plenty of sustained notes, not a 'see how fast I can play' montage.

    Dink?

I'm pretty sure @Spoombung has made his bass go dink....
  19. Beautiful. Thanks for posting.
  20. Do you think 'these amps' would be any good for metal ?
