To expand on that (it was getting late...) I had a stand develop the well known "sticky handle" syndrome. Contacted them - not interested. It didn't really bother me at the time, as that particular stand hardly ever gets moved/touched/adjusted. A couple of weeks ago, I had cause to move it. Picked it up, and the handle/clamp mechanism fell apart. I have a couple of other Hercules stands which are fine, but I shan't be buying any more.

I was one of 2 guitars in an aspiring band of teenaged mates. One time, at what passed for a rehearsal, the bassist got the hump and stormed off. I picked up his bass, and we carried on. The next weekend I bought a Westone Thunder, which I played through my WEM combo until I nabbed myself an Acoustic head/cab from the local classifieds. Happy days...

I've had a couple of HA heads (still got one) with no issues, and my main amp for several trouble-free years now has been a LH500. Cracking amp.

Then you don't want a 3.5mm jack... Me? I'd cut the power lead and rejoin it with the conductors reversed. Twist & solder the conductors, and tidy it all up with heatshrink sleeving.

^^this. I've used a LH500 for several years now. It's been utterly reliable, and sounds fantastic.

Long time user of Dr Ducks Axwax, but I've just been given some Dunlop 65 stuff so I'll be giving that a go...

If you're not motivated to play, why force yourself? I like playing bass n stuff. But I like doing other things as well.

If you're missing a trick, I am too! Not for IEM's, but I've tried all manner of ear buds with my mp3 player, and just can't get on with them, for exactly the same reasons.

Are those recommendations for full frame? Cos 24/28/35 isn't really "wide" on APS-C. For me, something like a 16-50 would be a better fit.

Not really, but if I'm signing up for something and agree to accept any terms that apply, I think it makes sense to find out what those terms are.
