1.
I'm using a Kindle Fire, and embedded YouTube videos (have always) take me to a blank page. :-(
The Silk browser doesn't support Flash. I installed Dolphin browser, and installed Flash. Sorted You'll need to get the .apk's from elsewhere though - they're not in the Amazon app store.
  2. Yamaha BB1024 -- Zoom B3 -- Hartke LH500 -- Barefaced Compact. Loud 'n' lush.
  3.
I had a Zoom b3 and sold it because I found it too fiddly and overwhelming to get set up as a first time effects user. Too many options... Laptop needed for setup
???
  4.
Ok, so what's the problem with it?
Nothing. A few blokes on a forum don't like it, 'tis all. /shrug/
  5.
Agreed, I think the problem is a lot of bass players think compression is an effect. It's not. Blue
It can be.
  6.
Maybe yours is different to mine as my cabs have a speakon and jack on the back but they are both inputs so you cant link them together.
Sure you can. They're both inputs, in that connecting your amp to either will work. They'll also be connected together in parallel so, no matter which one is connected to the amp, the other one can be used to Daisy chain to another cab.

    Overwater
Hello BC. Just wondering how I would know the difference between a Tanglewood Overwater Bass, and a erm! Overwater bass. Cheers
Mine says "Overwater by Tanglewood Guitar Group UK" on the back of the headstock.
  8.
I can't understand why this hasn't sold. So much cab for so little money
Right cab, wrong time
  9.
Agree, good call Mick, would be nice to see the BDI21 in this.
Hoping to get there. If I do, I'll bring a BDI21 along.
  10.
I have some Superlux 681 Evos and they're great.
Me too. No complaints with the sound, but I find them extremely uncomfortable.
  11. My bad. I wrote: "painted headstock, plastic nut, 21 fret neck and chrome hardware all suggests a 2 to me (corrections welcome)" ...I meant 1, not 2. Yup, 32's a shortie. Well, shorter than regular 34 inch anyway... You have a 1982 Concord 1.
  12. Where did you put the "serial" number? It's not really a serial number, it's more of a date of manufacture/production run/batch number. The 'serial' numbers aren't always unique to a single instrument, and the 2 at the start suggests it was made in 1982. The painted headstock, plastic nut, 21 fret neck and chrome hardware all suggests a 2 to me (corrections welcome) Are you sure it's not a shortie - what's the distance from nut to 12th fret?
  13. Some info on 'em at http://www.westone.info/concord1bass.html
  14.
Regarding the cab, how tough is the tolex on these?
Not 100 percent sure, but I think a 'tuff-cab' kinda finish is standard on the Big Twin.
  15. Is it a Concord 2? Can't really see on my phone screen. I thought only the Concord 1 (short scale, made from 82-84-ish) had the painted headstock.
  16.
What I want to know is if a 50W all-valve amp can be successfully gigged without PA support. Going by what my 100W all-valve amp was like, I'm guessing that it can.
Depends on the gig, but I've done no end of pub & small club gigs with a 60W Carlsbro - all with sweaty drummers.
  17.
Power handling is double that of one speaker, as a series pair can only handle the single amount whereas a parallel pair will split it between them. Again assuming all the same impedance drivers.
Is this right?
  18.
Now, to finalise back up stuff, I need a rechargeable battery charger. Recommendations and/or links gratefully appreciated ta
Get a smart charger. The display on this one's a bit naff, but it's a good charger. https://www.7dayshop.com/batteries-power-chargers/7dayshop-multi-mode-lcd-display-intelligent-ni-mh-battery-charger-for-aa-and-aaa-batteries Agree with the suggestion of Eneloop rechargables.
  19. Try an instrument lead between the effects loop in/out (send/ return). The contacts on the switched jack sockets can act up.
  20. This is a FAQ in the Yamaha web site ---x--- What Size Strings Originally Came on my Yamaha Bass Guitar? Back to the list Go to Product Information Last Update: 06/22/2012 Yamaha basses are supplied with a standard .105 to .045 set Specific sizes are: E .105 A .080 D .065 G .045 ---x---
  21. I bought a small bottle of Dr Ducks Ax Wax some time ago, and use it on everything - strings, frets/fretboard, saddles & chrome work, everything. A little really does go a long way - I reckon this bottle will last longer than me...
  22. Find a preset that you like - save it to a different slot eg A1 Find another preset that you like - save it to an adjacent slot, eg A2. Is that what you mean?
