1. OK - thanks, but a 500+ mile round trip's a bit much. GLWTS
2. Colour me interested, but I'd like to see some better pics of the damage. Where are you ?
3. I kinda get why people like 'em, but don't quite get it myself...
4. I've had 2 amps fail. One was bought 2nd hand, the other I bought brand new. I've had many more "pre-loved" amps than bought-new so, based on a sample size of one (me), 2nd hand amps are more reliable.
5.
...my worry is that the 500/600w head I have now is powering 2 400w 8 ohm cabs and when you mention having more 'cab' - i still have more head power which leaves me open to over running at this point
500W into 2 x 8Ohm cabs, the power will be split equally - 250W into each.
6. Bought some leads from Jon, in a thoroughly pleasant, quick and straightforward transaction. Great stuff...cheers.
7.
Hiya, These don't look like they used to be a 406 cab to me, looks more like a pair of 404s
I wondered that at first, but I think my old 404 had 2 ports at the bottom of the front baffle?
8. Hmm...I've had a bit of a hankering for an ABM for a while, and this isn't doing me any good whatsoever ! A rehearsal room that I use has an old Klystron, and it always make me smile whenever I use it.
9. Great comms, speedy delivery, goods as described. A pleasure doing business - cheers Geoff.
10.
As soon as the drummer gets going...
Drummer? What drummer...?
11. We do it, even though the guitar man doesn't much like it, 'cause it slways goes down so well. Edit: LK - AYGGMY, that is
12.
Combine it with a pair of these (cheap Chinese earphones that get top audiophile reviews): http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00S5P7S16
Very timely. I'm about to buy some new earbuds. Hadn't come across these before, but I'll give 'em a go. Cheers
13.
The zoom r16 looks like a good option as does the zoom H2n.
FWIW, I asked a (kinda) similar question here - and apparently the R16 uses the same mic capsules as the H2
14. Switch both the cabs to 8 Ohm (for a combined impedance of 4 Ohms) and you're good to go

16. Big Hartke fan here. I've an HA2500 and an LH500, and don't plan changing 'em any time soon.
17. Upload it to a free Google Drive account (15GB?) and share it?
18. Looks like the A string's not sitting in the nut slot...
19.
For reasons I don't need to go into on here, is it possible/safe to use a powered desk if you use powered speakers?
Just don't connect the (powered/active) speakers to the speaker outputs on the desk.
20. Zoom B1on. Tuner, drum machine thing, and a looper too - 45-ish quid.
21. Not quite what you're asking, but...if I were in your shoes I'd be all over the Yamaha BB424x in the For Sale section.
22. Any other time, and it wouldn't be. Some unexpected outgoings means that I can't quite justify it at the mo'...
23. I had 4 basses. Then I got a BB1024. Now I have 4 more than I need.
24. Get the amp that you really want. If it doesn't have a headphone out, get a Zoom B1on
25. Never used them myself, so not a personal recommendation, but - I use rehearsal rooms in Stevenage from time to time, and the guy who runs the place has all his repairs etc done by http://www.theampworkshop.co.uk/
