1.
Carlsbros are up and coming, now the others have all gone silly price, and they are well made as most amps of the period. People carving them up and converting to Marshall spec will continue the upward trend.
Mmm...I shan't be mod'ing mine. I've used it (for bass...) at small pub gigs with a 1x15 Acoustic 404, and it sounds just gorgeous as it is ! 300 quid? Really ? There seems to be a few models that were called the TC60. Mine's very similar to the one at http://www.gearfreak.dk/_publicpics/review...24EA3398448.jpg although the printing on the fascia of mine is different. Not that I'm planning on selling it...
 2. Thanks folks - off to get a replacement IEC connector tomorrow.
 3. Just taken delivery of a bass from Ben. Arrived well packaged, as described, and on the agreed day. A thoroughly painless transaction - wouldn't hesitate to deal with Ben again. Cheers matey !
 4. Hi all, I've somehow managed to break the mains plug for an old Carlsbro TC60 amp, and I'm struggling to find a replacement I could replace the whole thing with a modern IEC connector, but I'd rather keep it original if possible and not have to faff around drilling the chassis etc. So, can anybody ID the connector in the pic below ? If I knew what it was called I might have a something to search for. The keyed part of the moulding is 22mm diameter, the holes that receive the pins in the chassis end are 10mm between centres, and the whole thing's 15mm long. If possible, I'd prefer one with the cable entry inline, rather than right angled like the one in the picture. cheers,

 6. Cheers Watchman, Since I posted that we've used it for a small pub gig, hooked up to a couple of 8ohm Yamaha cabs. There are no markings on it regarding speaker impedance, but it seems to have survived with no apparent damage done, and it was plenty loud enough for what we want it for - basically just a couple of vocal mics, possibly one on the kick-drum. As you suggest, I think I'll ignore the slave outputs. If it gets to the stage where I need to consider them, it'll be time to look at a bigger/better PA anyhow. I was curious as much as anything. I was though, like you, rather surprised at the lack of info out there... Thanks for your thoughts.

 9. Hi all, I've just acquired an old Carlsbro Marlin 6-300 PA mixer/amp - seems to work fine and will do us for vocals at small pub gigs etc. But..I've no manual or user guide, and can't find anything on the net about it. I've also asked Carlsbro, with no luck. I'm really just curious about a couple of things: Speaker impedance, just so's I don't do anything silly with it. There's a couple of sockets marked "slave" on the rear panel, next to the "preamp out" socket, and I've no idea what they're for. Very grateful for any info, or pointers. cheers.

 12.
It's well worth it
I'm not sure the aggro from the Financial Controller would be worth it though ! Still thinking...
 13.
looks fantastic. If i had the money i would!
I haven't really got the money right now, but I still might ! Thinking...
 14. I don't think I've seen a black one "in the flesh", but I've got one in the natural wood finish and I reckon it's a pretty cool old beast ! Bought it 2nd hand in about '85 and it's been in constant use ever since. Looking a bit "distressed" now, but it still plays fine. For small pub gigs I plug it straight into an old 60W Carlsbro valve head, into an Acoustic 404 1x15 cab of similar vintage, and it sounds absolutely gorgeous. If I didn't already have one, I'd snap this up.
 15. Another "thanks" for Tom. Amp arrived when he said it would. As described. Very well packaged. I'm a happy bunny. Cheers Tom.
