1. The compact is almost exactly the same size as an Ashdown 2x10 that I've just sold. The 'one in, one out' just happened to take place while she's in Italy for a few days...
2.
Anyone tell me if my Reidmar would power a compact sufficiently? looking at the BF website they were quoting a min of 250W at 8ohm and the reidmar only puts out 250 at 4 ohm
I used my newly aquired Compact at a pub gig last weekend, with my Hartke HA2500 - 180W at 8Ohms. (I'd loaned my LH500 to a mate with an amp emergency - his gig was bigger than mine...) The volume and clarity of the Compact meant that the little HA wasn't being pushed anywhere near its max, and the end result sounded really rather nice.
3.
Thats how it was yonks ago when I worked on dial up CCTV kit, Old phones still work so I cant see it being any different now, Power, high ring voltage plus speech both ways on two very very long thin wires, Pretty clever cosidering it was designed at least 150 years ago.
BT specs are pretty much all available online, as Suppliers Information Notes (SINs) at http://www1.btwebworld.com/sinet/ From memory, the relevant one is SIN351, which specifies 40-100V AC. The only difference between now and as far back as I can remember, is that the ringing is no longer generated by the old electromechanical "ringing machines". I'm sure Loz feels better for knowing that
4. I've got an older 100W Ashdown Five Fifteen and, like Loz says, mine wouldn't work for me in a band situation - but I guess that rather depends what sort of band it is. It sounds OK at low-ish volume, but soon runs out of steam if I start cranking it. (That's fine though for what I want it for. I bought it cheap from here just as something to have kicking around the house for practicing with) I did have a play with a 1x15 Hartke combo a while back - one of the "kickback" ones, possibly an A100 but I'm not 100% sure - which I thought was fantastic. Retained its punch at higher volume than my Ashdown...still not sure I'd want to gig with it though.
5. As far back as I can remember, ringing in the UK has always been 75V AC @25Hz
6. Whatever next? 'we don't sell Guiness Sir - the landlord doesn't like it. Pint of Drambuie?'
7. I took that to mean available in both 4 and 8 Ohm versions...or is it selectable via a switch on the cab ?
8. Valve emulation only, on the 2500. It's all solid state. Can't help with the problem I'm afraid. I do have a HA2500, but it's always behaved itself.
9. Combo & cab are both now gone. Cheers Ivan - small world, eh?
10. Just don't turn it up too loud - ya might get beer in the little Roland!
11. Bought a cab from Gareth, Great comms from start to finish - kept me informed every step of the way, and it arrived when he said it would, all packed up nice n' snug, and in fantastic condition as described. A thoroughly painless transaction - deal with confidence. Cheers matey.
12. 2x10 cab still available, but the combo is now sold.
13.
Only a matter of time. It with come for you!
That's what I was told. I've had a Facebook account for a couple of years now, and it still makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. I think I've "liked" the BC pagey thing, but I've no idea how to "follow" it, or what will happen if I do...
14.
Does the BDI 21 have a decent overdrive?
If you're anywhere near Cambridge you're welcome to try mine.
15. +1 for the Behringer BDI21 - remarkably good for very little money, IMO. 30 quid from Bluearan http://www.bluearan.co.uk/index.php?id=BEHBDI21&browsemode=category and you'll probably get half that back if you don't like it and decide to sell it on.
16. Ashdown MAG 400 combo - sold [s]It's the older UK made, red-faced 400W model, with a single 15-inch 8-Ohm speaker- front ported. It has an additional speaker connection on the rear panel, so you can add another 8-Ohm cab to get the full 400W. 2 inputs, for active and passive instruments. 5 way EQ, with additional "bright" and "deep" buttons, and a subharmonic thingy with adjustable level. Also has a DI, effects loop in/out, and a line out for a tuner or whatever. Condition wise - everything works just as it should, with the exception of the VU meter backlight. The VU meter still works - just the bulb behind it has blown.. Cosmetically, I'd say it's in good nick considering that its probably 10 years old. The carpet covering is showing signs of wear & tear, bobbling etc, but it's all there with no rips or chunks missing. Some crappy iPhone photos at http://www.flickr.co...631000777200/#/ can get some better ones later in the week when Barkin Jr. brings the camera home, if anybody wants more.[/s] Ashdown MAG210 cab. Older style (not "deep") front ported Ashdown MAG 2x10. Shallower than the more recent MAG210's - 13-ish inches front to back. Size wise, it's matches the MAG400 combo and stacks neatly on (or beneath) the combo if that's your thing. Has provision for a tweeter, but there wasn't one in it when I got it. I've put an old broken one in there, just to fill the gap - but it's not connected. Slightly better nick cosmetically than the combo, and in good working order. It's an 8 Ohm cab, rated at 250W I think. I can't check at the moment, as it's at the drummers place. For that reason I can't put any pics up at present, but can get some later in the week for anybody interested. [s]Looking for £100 £90 collected for the combo[/s] - sold. [s]£80[/s] £70 for the cab. Cab sold. I'm near Cambridge. Happy to post at buyers expense.
17. Cash waiting - too far away [edit: PM'd]
18. That looks to be out of date. The "Available in Android Market" link (below the "Available on the App Store" link) at the top of that same page, goes to: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tcelectronic.toneprint You can also use a USB connection to a PC.
19. ---x--- To load new types of effects or the artist-made Bass TonePrints, simply hook up your amp to a computer via the included USB cable. Or even cooler: beam them directly from your smartphone straight into BH250 using the mindblowing TonePrint App for iOS and Android. ---x--- http://www.tcelectronic.com/bh250-toneprints.asp
20. As far as the load presented to the amp goes, no difference.
21.
Two things are certain, death and texes.
...and taxis, so that's three.
