1. I'll have the other 4, if you can post 'em. Or I'll have them all, if Cameltoe changes their mind...
2. ISTR them posting here (user name - Ashdown Engineering) recently, that there are only 6 full-time people.
3. Just got a set of tuners from Paul and, once again, the whole transaction was a predictable pleasure from start to finish. Great comms, well packed, dispatched promptly, as described, etc etc. Paul's a totally top man - deal with confidence.
4.
I accidentally end up on peoples home pages all the time,
Me too, mainly when I'm using my laptop with the slidey touchpad thingy.
5. I had a MAG head once, did the same sort of thing. Set about it with a liberal dose of Servisol in all the pots and switches, and it was right as rain again. As far as I'm aware, it's still going strong.
6. I think the neck pocket's a couple of mm narrower - ~61mm against 63.5mm (2.5 inches) for Fenders.
7.
Amps do differ in how the volume control affects output; some deliver most of it fairly early on with little increase towards the top end of the range; others are very 'linear' and keep increasing as you dial up to 10; and some seem to deliver most of the usable output in the top half of the range.
My experience, and others I think, of the Hartke LH's, is that the volume control is very "polite" until it gets to about 1-2 o'clock. (5-6 on the dial) and that after that it gets proper loud. If it was at 4 (11 o'clock-ish) I'd say it probably had loads, and I mean loads, more grunt on tap. Maybe the Ampeg's the same, albeit different IYSWIM ?
8. There's one for sale on here. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/246119-2-x-ev-sx300-speakers-ev-sba760-sub-yamaha-emx5000-powered-desk/page__fromsearch__1
9.
Agree with all of the above. Its a case of keep calling the pubs that say they will ring you back.
I've always found ringing pubs a bit of a waste of time. Get in their face !
10. I *think* the 41x's have a different (slightly slimmer) neck to the other current models - 42x/102x/202x I've recently picked up a 1024, and I love it - a rock monster!
11. A long shot, I know, but I'm scrapping a Hoover HSWD 126-80 washer/dryer. Motor, pump, program controller, switches, door/interlock etc etc - basically, everything except the main drum assembly is OK. Taking it to the dump at the weekend, but if anybody wants any parts I'll put them to one side. Collect from SG8, or happy to post at cost.
12.
http://www.gear4musi...-Amplifier/U6S# it seems crazy cheap!
Crazy cheap at £160 or £320 ?
13.
Some of thise TKS cabs look great, while the slant fronted ones look like my old Dansette record player. One piece of retro I don't want to see again.
Phew - thought it was just me!
14.
I wonder if you could plumb in a second ext. cab?
Given that max. power is quoted @ 8 Ohms, and looking at the pictures, I'd say no.
15. This makes me want to buy another Ashdown amp. If Kev doesn't want to take you up on this...
16. Watching this with interest, as I'm thinking along similar lines. Have you actually got them?
17.
Here's a recording from last night, it's a writing session and improvised so a bit sketchy http://soundcloud.co...inished/s-md7zN This is: sh*tty Rehearsal room Vocal mics on snare and kick, bass DI, guitar DI, stereo pair on R16 mounted close to the kit.
Thanks for posting that. If I can get anything near, I'll be a happy bunny. A bit more work to do, but at least I now know that what I want is definitely doable. Cheers.
18. Is Stevenage too far? If it's not...I've not used him myself, but I've heard good reports for Terry Chapman at tjcguitars.com I think Lozz on here has had work done by him, so he might chip in here soon...
19.
When I've needed to do this kind of thing I just hold a variety of drill bits next to the screws I want to drill a hole for and select the best match (in your case I suppose that's the width of the thread).
This. The holes aren't for the tugbar, or the scratchplate - they're for the screws !
20. Also bear in mind that the LH500 is 4 Ohm minimum, so you won't be able to use 2 x 4 Ohm cabs.
