  1. I used to have a Klystron 250 (or maybe 200?). I believe the Klystron's were forerunners to the ABM series?
  2. I just hang the front 2 amp feet over the front of the cab, while the rear feet stay say on the top.
  3. It wasn't me made the sweeping "modern music..." assertion...
  4. Eh? There's loads of new, refreshing, innovative original stuff out there. You might not find it on R1, but...
  5. I don't have an Ashdown amp now, but when I did I just twiddled stuff 'til it sounded good to my ears, and ignored the needle...
  6. As we're talking about the signal being sent to the cab, does it matter if any distortion is from an overdriven amp or a pedal? I suspect not.
  7. The original 1x15 Compact was discontinued when the Gen3 cabs came along. Still got mine, and it ain't going anywhere.
  8. If it's in the USA some random sockets won't work, some switches won't do anything, and some will work the wrong way around.
  9. Crikey, is that what they go for these days?
  10. Wanna borrow my glasses...?
  11. Old, heavy, outdated thing that nobody wants? That'll be me...
  12. Used gen1 Barefaced Compact. 11kg. Job done.
  13. I've not given a thought to any other bass since I got a Yam BB1024, some 7 or 8 years ago I guess. Not really brand loyalty though - it's just so bloody good
  14. You get a lolly stick with pies...?
  15. Them fancy promotional videos ain't cheap ya know...
  16. Zoom multi-fx. i personally use a B3, but that's no longer current. Also gets you aux in, amp/cab sims, effects, tuner, looper, drum machine. I think the new one is the B1-4 or something. Hard to beat for the money IMO.
  17. No 'right' or 'wrong'. Do whatever gives you the sound you want.
  18. I reckon he's talking about lossy audio compression, not dynamic range compression.
  19. Leads don't get tangled & knotted by themselves. People do it...
  20. I've done loads of pub gigs with a Carlbro TC60 into a BF Compact. Guess it depends on the band/genre though - most pub bands are waaay too loud IMO...
  21. Oh good, we haven't seen this one for a while...
  22. I always assumed the 'Happy Birthday To You' song was an original, by my granny. It was only recently that I found out it was originally written by James Bond !
  23. I must admit (and this isn't aimed at anybody in particular) I do find some attitudes to weight a bit puzzling. My previous cab setup must have weighed in at somewhere around 50 Kg, I'd guess. When I swapped it for my current BF 1x15 Compact, it was truly a game-changer. A single cab solution, at ~11.5 Kg. Yet the thought of "lugging" an amp of the same weight is a no-no, despite an amp being a far easier carry than any cab. IMO. Each to his own, eh ?
