  1. Have you checked all of the screws on the machine head? Check that the big screw through the centre of the tuner hasn’t worked loose, and also the 4 screws that hold the backplate to the headstock would be my next step- also, is there any ‘wobble’ in the tuning key itself when the string is tuned?
  2. X-1, where X is the perfect number of basses.
  3. I'd oil that board too - looks as dry as Ghandi's flip-flop!
  4. Tapes are MUCH wider in diameter than rounds, I’d start by checking the size of the groove for that string.
  5. The Hanson bros. iteration was in fact ‘Mmm Bop’, which loses a lot in translation from the original Sanskrit. 😉
  6. Edge of the world - FNM
  7. Nice! I prefer the white guard as it gives a more ‘danelectro’ vibe.
  8. Dance to the music - Sly & the family stone.
  9. Blowerbox is quite simply the best Rat based circuit for bass; that is a scientific fact!
  10. Vans? Shouldn’t you be wearing crocodile shoes?
  11. Reliably? That puts a different slant on things… 😄
  12. Train in Vain - The Clash
  13. Secret option F - both feet as I play sat down 😄
  14. Touch-a touch-a touch me - Rocky Horror Cast
  15. That version introduced me to the Who’s back catalogue!!
  16. If you’ve already got one (and let’s be honest, you really should do) then get this as a second!!
  17. Holiday in Cambodia - DK
  18. Cowboys from hell - trouser-tearer
  19. Jacko wasn’t ever convicted.
  20. Running round the fountains in Trafalgar Square - George Formby
  21. Play some Primus - you’ll have a LOT of fun on the bass, and Ler’s guitar parts are so unorthodox your guitarist can pretty much play anything and most punters won’t be able to tell the difference! 😄
  22. For me it’s Larry LaLonde from Primus; his guitar parts are so unorthodox and creative. and Björk. Always Björk.

    bell emulation

We used to do "Hallowed be thy name" by Iron maiden and our drummer rigged up a little sample pad with the bell sample in it for the introduction. Can't remember the exact make and model, but I don't think it was particularly expensive.
