Here's the compatibility table for the Sonicfoam tips - I got them from Amazon. SF1s seem to fit all of the KZ range.

Have you ever been tempted to learn a song... just in case!

Yes. Most of my playing now involves depping for other players, so I like to keep abreast of what local bands are doing, just in case... -
Glamorous Glue - Mozza

This. Definitely. Darkglass heads are voiced perfectly for newer metal styles (think John Stockman from Karnivool) but most of my metal playing was through Ampeg stuff 0 their cabs have a noticeable 'boom' at around 200Hz which was great for filling the space when two lead guitarists were going widdly widdley in harmony.

Just got some sonic foam tips for my zs10s - much better now.

Loving the semi-parametric designs. I'll never understand why they're not more common on amplifiers; I used to play SWR amps and they were SO flexible. Ampeg preamps come close with the mid frequency selector (which I use now), but mostly its just a toggle between two preset frequencies.

You like the bass player….. but not so much his/her band.

I'd echo Flea. For me they peaked with Blood Sugar Sex Magic and it's been a slow decline since them. I'll submit Chuck Rainey. AMAZING bassist but Steely Dan just superheats my uric acid. And not in a good way. -
Illness Has Stopped Me Gigging Temporarily
paul_5 replied to Chienmortbb's topic in General Discussion
Yep. Long covid has put paid to most of my extra curricular activities; can’t stand or walk for long, do what gigging I do is now sat down. My brain fog and fatigue means that I can’t drive or remember lots of different songs and set lists like I used to. It sucks but I know folks who’ve had it worse. Try to focus on the positives. learn a new instrument or 2, broaden your musical tastes or start to transcribe different stuff than you’re used to hearing. one thing I’ve learned through all of this is that everybody can find something that they enjoy. keep your chin up dude. -
I use a Butler tube overdrive in addition to a boss OC2 and aEHX Small Clone when zI need a bit of drive, but a Lovetone Meatball clone after the oc2 gives a lovely Stevie Wonder style analogue synth- works great with glissandos.

Bands whose live albums trounce their studio efforts

I think (for me) Slayer’s Decade of Aggression just about eclipses the studio recordings too. -
Anyone got any new blues scales i could use for an upcoming jam session

Hooray for secondary dominant chords! 👌🏻 -

Yes, I thought that as I was typing, but these are released as 'Live' albums, not the standard 'record everything and replace lots of it when we get home' Zappa approach. -

Should really be renamed "Overdubbed & Marginally Perilous" as only a small proportion of that admittedly brilliant album is actually live. -

LOTS of Zappa albums - personal favourites include "Broadway the Hardway", "Does Humour Belong In Music" & "Roxy & Elsewhere". Also, "Pulse" is pretty much the only Pink Floyd I can stand to listen to. I have to admit that. as big of a Rush fan as I am, I prefer the Live versions on "A Show Of Hands" to most of the albums that preceded those tours (Signals, Grace Under Pressure, Hold Your Fire). -

Iron Maiden’s Live After Death is easily better than most of the studio albums leading up to it. YMMV. -

Yup. E & A 😄 -
If they ARE then he won't be hearing it for long!

Dep gig for a 50th do at a (fairly) local rugby club. Loud but not as lively as I would have expected. Good giggle with a good bunch of lads who have fun when they play.

What an amazingly kind thing, I just wish I was closer!!

I've always had a soft spot for the Black Crowes version of "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35". Let's face it, if anyone could deliver the lyric "everybody must get stoned" then it's those chaps. https://youtu.be/2FTCSie0Z6g

As above. I’d start with the checking and possibly replacing the electrolytic caps, they have a short shelf life (about a decade!) compared to most other components .
