morning All I placed a SD3 quarter pounder in my precision infinity yesterday and they really were a tight squeeze through the pickguard. Now when I adjust the screws there are no movement in the pickups which means they are quite low and have hardly any output. is there an easy way to rectify this without paying a luthier to mess with the pickguard. thanks all

planet waves do loads of nice thick padded straps

I have a hartke lh500 which has the usual 3 nobs bass, teble, mids and I use a Ibanez sr500 which has the same active pre-amp nobs. so in essence I have 2 eqs. As MrDavethe bass said you can change eq mid song if needed. it took me a while to fathom that out

Pubs or Clubs ... what's the difference?
christhammer666 replied to Happy Jack's topic in General Discussion
ive been in ciu/wmc for years. always made me grimace when people used to turn away from the band and try to shout over them. They would be the first to complain if there was no entertainment. I remember there used to be a rock covers band called savannah and people moaned that much they put a sound limiter in my local club. After that whoever played, their sound cut out at least 10 times a set -
to be honest I may be totally wrong but it doe not feel any different . ill try and take a pic later

you got storm on Holloway road. if your guitarist don't mind public transport instead of driving you can get overground from Clapham to highbury corner then a short walk

i havent put the duncan in yet but even as is i cant put it down

Discussion, What Is The Right Band for Me?
christhammer666 replied to Bluewine's topic in General Discussion
for me its 1. location. (rehearsals for me normally mean me going straight from work so I don't want to have a 2 hour journey and then have to get home again) 2.age ( nothing against age at all im 38 but I cant see me having much in common with people in their early 20s when your sitting around waiting at gigs, travelling etc) 3.Travel ( I share a car with the wife so id like people that have ways and means of getting about comfitably) to add to 3. I don't mind giving people lifts, its just with some people it becomes known that YOU drive them everywhere. -
Buyer's Remorse (or Not Buying Remorse!)

buying-Any 5 string I keep comvincing myself I can play. my hands just aint big enough. not buying- a beaten up mim precision that went on ebay for £170 a few months back -
my first MIM precision black, maple neck played like a dream. Jap geddy lee ( enough said) the pick ups growled forever......................feel like crap now lol

I had the exact same trouble with a mex precision a few years ago. no matter what I did the e saddle kept dropping. I did the same as you I put on a 201 gotoh was lovely

Who inspires you most musically, and why?

Devin townsend for me. The man can write the beautiful haunting melodies and then the heaviest riffs known to man. His genre hopping is mind blowing. To me he is the modern day Zappa -
I use 110,90,70,50 not the tightest tension but I like the strings a bit looser

Does anyone just use a bass & amp?
christhammer666 replied to The59Sound's topic in General Discussion
I have done all the pedals and boards etc, but as NJE says its just more stuff to go wrong. And more often then not I have had issues. At the mo with my Ibby sr500 and my hartke lh500 im getting a lovely piano like tone so it suits me. All I plug in is a tuner -
I use 50-110 I think they are a lot better for different tunings. I can drop from standard down 1 step without it making much difference to my neck. You can defo dig in more but my hands get a lot tired quicker

Everything I have bought of their has been ok but I had one occasion where a VM jazz was on there for £180. I thought ill have some of that, So I messaged the seller he was great come and said pick it up in a few days. All going well so far , then get a message from the seller saying someone had offered £220 ,I said i aint stupid and to shove it. Funniest part was, a week later he had the nerve to message me and ask did I still want it

I have recently become sober so my next gig will be the first without a drop of devil juice. I expect the nerves to be there in abundance
