  1. Evening all i posted a thread a while about trying to find a band I have been lucky in the fact that I have found one which is brand new.the problem I now have is that I'm dreading the thought of spending 6+ months in the rehearsal room writing and perfecting songs and then playing for free to noone as promoters don't promote and think One share on Facebook is promoting . even when you promote yourself no one really goes to see original small metal bands anymore am I just being a miserable git or am I being a realist when I think of all the sacrifice and expense for little gain or record I don't know if I want to do it anymore Jamie
  2. from a strictly metal/rock genre id suggest Anything by motorhead master of puppets by metallica. especially the title song and orion any death album featuring steve digiorgio. his use of a fretless in metal is mindblowing whirlwind by transatlantic
  3. Lifes to short mate. Like your situation I have spent so much time hanging around waiting for things to get better etc. the way I see it your options are 1. just walk away 2.fire him 3.if he is that stubborn and your bandmates are on your page, all leave and form your own project
  4. Isn’t it just. i haven’t stopped listening to it all week
  5. This https://youtu.be/SQcSq5noG3o
  6. I currently use an affinity precision which has a thinner lighter body and that doesn’t have neck dive. The mim ones I’ve had didn’t either . As said above it could possibly be the tuners if they are a chunkier heavier brand
  7. bought a SD quarter pounder to stick in my affinity precision about 3 months Wouldn't be without my Hartke LH500. lovely crystal clear tone
  8. there was a lot at steak with that solo
  9. you don't fancy swapping wives do you ? mines moaning because I want to get a cv squire for around £200
  10. Evening all im writing this on a rubbish phone so can’t search if there is a similar thread already or if in wrong place so apologies . i have a squier affinity with a SD qtr pounder which I love and is set up in drop d for my band. i could possibly be starting a new Project which be in drop c, is it going to bugger the bass changing tunings constantly during the week with 2 rehearsals in different tunings and learning new parts etc in no financial position to buy another bass so that isn’t an option unfortunately cheers
  11. i need to have a plan like some of these going forward. I only play when I have stuff to learn song wise or have a gig coming.
  12. I suppose it will have to be an option I finish work at 4 so 6-9 would be better then 7-10
  13. square hammer- Ghost
  14. thanks for the replies guys. I think the main issue is the time . by the time I get home its gone midnight and even though I could enjoy the music and company I just dread it as I know im gonna be a cranky sod the next day
  15. Morning, What would you call a reasonable amount of time to travel to rehearsals ? at the age of 39 im getting bored of trapsing across London for 1hr+ each way and getting in at gone midnight. Ive triewd to find something where I am in south London but all musical projects seem to be either far north or west London. Its grates me a bit as well when everyone else lives 10 minutes walk away and I have to get 2 tubes and a train. Am I being unreasonable or am I being a miserable git
  16. I think id rather pass my 135 b-string down my urethra
  17. Saw ghost the Albert hall on the 9th. sound was pretty dire and the bass was pretty non existent from my seat shame really as the show itself was mesmerising
  18. Can’t recommend the below enough guy Marino enough.great service for anyone in the south London area. crystal palace/upper Norwood based
  19. Anyone going to see ghost tonight at the Albert hall tonight ? If their bass tone is still as colossal as this, I may need to take an extra pair of pants
  20. do you ever get London way ? id have this of you in a heartbeat
  21. ive had this loads. had a junk bitsa on there, £100 no offers, got an email offering £50. I didn't even bothering to answer
  22. not just me then lol
  23. strengths- can pick like a hammer and can keep up with any metal guitarist weaknesses- lazy when it comes to practicing. sometimes becoming very complacent...also very lazy when it comes to warming up
  24. Bloody hell I didn't realise that. if I turned up angel never played anything pre 1998 id be mad as hell
