  1. Thanks Ped, will get deleting
  2. How do I find old photos to delete when I don’t know what posts/topics they’re on?
  3. So new (to me) bass day, a rather nice Sandberg SL. Been looking for one for a while due to back issues and when I saw this up for grabs, in my favoured black/black/maple it just had to be. Just played it for about an hour and even without being set up as I like, and without my favoured Elixirs (currently has Elites steel rounds) it’s simply a dream to play. Not usually a fan of matching headstocks but I think it really suits it, plus - and shows my levels of OCD - it matches our guitarists Ibanez like this so I’m more than happy. I’m giving up gigging so this will be used at home and with my non-gigging classic rock band, this 6lb bass will make 4hr rehearsals a lot easier.
  4. Sad but when thinking about it it’s almost like he could let go once he’d played that last gig with his old mates.
  5. Yep I’ve used a few of these and it’s one of those rigs I wish I’d had.
  6. Same, buttons on front difficult to see, and in my case difficult to bend down to see as well.
  7. I get where you’re coming from Andy - and I’m sure we all do - many years ago I left a couple of bands due to this, where it wasn’t adding anything to my life anymore but taking stuff away from it.
  8. Happened to me when the strap button came out on my Thunderbird, it didn’t need that much of an excuse to dive to the floor anyway, but this totally floored it. Fortunately it happened on the last note of the last song in the encore so not too much of a problem.
  9. That clip of Buggles doing Two Tribes is great, I knew Trevor Horn was a good bassist but imo he really shines on that version.
  10. Yep 6 months use as a rehearsal room rig suggests reliability, especially the way some people pound them
  11. Sold One of the above, in good condition, weighs 8.5kbs. No case, no shipping, collection/meet up only.

  12. Now Sold One of the above, in good condition aside from slight dents on the top horn near the strap button, and holes on the headstock where I fitted a Hipshot triple retainer - happy to put it back on if required. Weighs 6.8lbs. Comes in a generic gig-bag. No shipping, collection/meet up only.

  13. The worst thing for doing in your ears imo are cymbals, so if on a cramped stage there’s nowhere to get away from them. And the worst cymbal of all for me is the ride, I try to keep well clear.
  14. I watched a clip of FGTH doing a rehearsal of this and agree his playing very good, much more complex & interesting line than I’d thought.
  15. I used one of the amps from this range a few weeks back, was quite physically small and had to be pushed on the volume so I think was the lowest wattage model. But the sound was great, all 4 bands used it, a variety of different sounds, handled them all. What I really liked was that the lows were really tight and solid but no booming, a really good full bottom end but all notes had definition.
  16. Fender US Precision as per my pic Number of strings: 4 Number of frets *1: 20 Scale length *2: 34” Number of pickups: 1 Number of controls (switches/knobs) *3: 2
  17. It’s a great looking bass, think you made a great choice @Itamar
  18. Ashdown did purple tolex speaker cabs for Geezer Butler a couple of weeks ago, imo made them look cool and rather forbidding - I dare say the look that Geezer had in mind.
  19. Sounds - from an iPhone speaker at least - like a grounding issue to me.
  20. Year started playing: 1980 Number of basses: 3 (that I use) Music theory: ??? Technique: ??? Groove: ??? I’m not sure on the last three, I usually make a band sound better when I join than they did before but to be honest I don’t really play/do that much so I couldn’t grade myself.
  21. I`ve read that in a few places, and agree that whilst it might not seem particularly taxing playing straight 8s (or 16s) through a whole track spot on is much harder than many would think. Probably many wouldn`t even realise how off they were until seeing the notes on the display in the studio - myself def included in this. It`s quite eye-opening to see just how much you`ve wavered when you thought you`d nailed it. Not all skills involve every fret and every string in a verse.
