  1. I think so, with just one instrument - or a fave that inevitably gets played instead of the others - you really get to know it. I have a few Precisions all of the same series, yet my fave one which I’ve had 10 years feels so much better to play, even though they’re all set up pretty much the same. I just instinctively know where/when to back off or dig in as appropriate on it.
  2. Since the separation and privatisation of Royal Mail & Parcelforce from The Post Office there can’t be much disagreement that they’ve both gone downhill. Thankfully The Post Office was retained under Govt ownership.
  3. Again agree. Since we started Knock Off in 2013 we played all over the country. At our first Rebellion in 2015 we must have had 700 watching us (1000 capacity room) whereas bands who’d been on the scene for years, but only played locally were getting much smaller audiences.
  4. Agree, pretty much all of the gigs I’ve played in the past 10 years or so in originals bands have always been well attended. Since returning to Knock Off temporarily, in the three gigs we’ve played crowds were approx 600 (800 capacity) 100 (100 capacity) 500 (600 capacity).
  5. I`ve not had or used one of these, but assuming it`s the same quality of their Tony Butler Precision then it would be a very good instrument. This is the first time I`ve seen these and I`m going to take a punt on one.
  6. Yep, great track and all the more amazing because of said bass.
  7. Same here, they might not look cool, but in hot sweaty venues they ARE cool.

    They’re decent basses, nice one
  9. If you go with the girl singer given you have a sax player you simply have to do Will You by Hazel O’Connor.
  10. The new bassist in my old band is using a Tech21 Para Driver in front of his Markbass amp & 210 cab to get the signature Knock Off sound. Combined with his MIM Precision loaded with EMG GZR pickups it sounds great.
  11. Same here, great little bits of kit that will easily cover a gig if needed
  12. Loved the gigs at The Dolls House, great venue, that`s a real shame that it`s closed.
  13. Nice, looks great
  14. Agree, every single person who attends the gig, be it few or many, they all deserve the best a band can deliver.
  15. I`ve always answered no to that question. Mainly because the actual answer was "your bum looks big in everything". Which of course I was far too diplomatic to say.
  16. Been there Dan, was rather disappointing to find out my (imo) great onstage sound was so rotten in the audience.
  17. I had a Nemesis 410, very loud, good sound, plus nice & light.
  18. Good to see them making a return, never understood the Marshall buying them thing, they did pretty much nothing with them.
  19. Ah, I suppose as I’ve only ever played along to The Ataris version I thought the original was also Eb. Hot-dang pop-punkers!
  20. If anything I’d drop to D if the guitarist is finding Eb awkward, as agree upping to E makes it sound a lot lighter.
  21. Ampeg SCR-DI would be my suggestion. Blendable gain which does from touch of break up to Lemmy really nicely, plus the Ampeg sound/eq.
  22. I’d say don’t criticise but offer some tips/guidance, but make sure it’s advice that they would be able to take on.
  23. Yup, I’m in that camp too. I’ve been more than satisfied with all the lightweight amps & cabs I’ve had but whenever I’ve used a bit of old heavy gear there’s just been something “more” to the sound and the feel of the sound on stage. Especially if it’s a big stage.
  24. No, you want to have a good holiday, metaphorically put your feet up and relax, not have a load of stuff from back home to deal with whilst away.
  25. Could be cap or possibly pots - Squier use 500s which are brighter, changing them to 250s sorts things out nicely, maybe Sire do similar?
