1. John couldn't have been more helpful towards me, and the wiring kit was with me within a day of my initial enquiry. Superb! Many thanks
2. I am looking to sell the following two pedals. Both are in excellent condition and come pre-velcroed! - EBS Bass IQ; with box and manual; £70 posted - NOW SOLD - EBS OctaBass; with manual; £65 posted - NOW SOLD Picture below:
3. I love this. My first bass was a Thunder Jet and I still have it in the loft! I feel a project coming on...
4. My favourite part is when he stands in front of the singer when he's singing the 'big note' at the end of the first number. Pure class.
5. I saw him at the Bass Centre in 91. Waited in the queue in front of Neil Murray! Both were great guys.
6. The Real Frank Zappa Book - Frank Zappa Scar Tissue - Anthony Kiedis
7. As annoying and lame as I found my Mo to be over the last fortnight, I can't let it go. I have taken it down to a Grade 1 and have declared the start of 'Beardcember' (or 'Decembeard' - take your pick). BTW - Congratulations! You've all done very well.
8. The final day! The results are not what I had hoped for, but raised a bit of dosh for a good cause. Here's a pic for my BC Mo Bros:
9. For sale is my chrome J-Retro 01 Jazz Bass preamp, which was bought new in 2011. It is in excellent condition and comes with installation instructions - photo below. Looking for £110 posted. Cheers
10. Dave was based in Wivenhoe, near Colchester and was a great bloke. He did a lot of work on one of my basses, recommended SWR amps to me and helped me source a Kubicki Ex Factor in the early 90s. I always wanted him to make a bass for me - wasn't to be though. Lost touch over the years - Not sure what he's up to now
11. I don't think that anyone has noticed mine yet!
12.
However the goal is usually to put your own personality into the parts, not someone else's.
Which it is possible to do (or not do) regardless of whether the song was written by the bloke standing next to you, or (say) Deep Purple. This is why I think that the ongoing covers vs originals debate is pointless.
13.
But there are lots of members of originals bands that are not involved in the music writing of the band.
That's exactly my point.
14. I think that the clips highlight what can be done when you have a great singer and a great drummer. Regarding the ongoing covers v originals debate, I see it this way: You either wrote the music you are performing or you didn't.
15. I really enjoyed it, and the Q&A session beforehand. Heavy going though. The conductor must have been knackered. Next stop ZPZ on the 11th - can't wait!
16.
Sadly, that's not allowed! You have to start on the Nov 1 with a clean shaven face. It's surprising how much facial hair some guys can grow in a month! Not me though - mine grows quite slowly and is ginger!!
So do I shave tonight or in the morning? This kind of thing could confuse a stupid person.
17. Frank Zappa style for me - particularly as he died twenty years ago this year from prostate cancer.
18. It's always the bass player, isn't it! This is the type of thing that could go viral and be the making of them.
19. I am selling my Nady 201 VHF wireless system. Excellent condition. Comes in what remains of the original box! Looking for £30 (posted). Picture below:
20. 21.
My band "The Xergrudelybooglers" resent that our name has been used in this thread. Please cease and desist.
I think that I may now have to rename my band "The Essex Xergrudelybooglers" (unless that's already taken).
22. I just bought Tom's FSR Precision. The process couldn't have been simpler. I contacted Tom on Saturday afternoon and the bass was delivered by Tuesday lunchtime. Tom's packing was excellent. Tom - thanks again. As I said in my PM - I am a very happy boy.
23. Very nice - thanks for posting. However, if our drummer started Rhythm Stick that fast, I'd probably sh*t myself.
