1. I thought Axl was like a breath of fresh air. Apart from arriving on time(!), and nailing the songs, he looked like he was genuinely having the time of his life and 'living the dream'. (but then, who wouldn't if they got that gig)
2.
The band are way past their best imho anyway.
In terms of new material definitely - but, then again, who isn't?
3. AC/DC with Axl were awesome when I saw them in June - even better than with Brian the previous year. I think Cliff's great, but his absence would not stop me going back for more.
4. Downloaded today. I'm really looking forward to reading this.
5.
At 16 it was all about Iron Maiden for me, but then David Lee Roth released 'Eat Em And Smile' the same year, which blew me away!!
Likewise. Although I had just turned seventeen when I heard Yankee Rose on the Casey Kasem American Top 40 radio show, so I left this off my earlier post! At that time my first band was at a low ebb and I was thinking that bass playing may just have been a flash in the pan. Hearing that song changed everything for me.
6. When I was 16, Iron Maiden were my world. I don't recall there being any other bands around at that time!
7. I started playing bass in the 1980s to get in a band and be part of a gang, to get girls, and because I wanted to be Steve Harris. Although those who book my band may perceive me to be a musician, I know in my heart that I am really a pretend pop star (and proud of it).
8. This amp has served me well since it was bought new, and it is still in excellent working order. Hard case and tuner also both in excellent condition. Looking for £200 complete with SKB hard case and Korg DTR1 digital rack mounted tuner as shown in picture. However, also happy to split, say: Amp: £150 Case & tuner: £40 each Details here: http://support.swram...dfs/st220om.pdf http://www.swramps.c...rt/vintage.php/ Collection preferred. However, I would be happy to meet up within a reasonable distance. Pic below.

10. AC/DC tonight!
11. I thought about getting a bass clef tattoo, but then decided against it as I don't read music. I think I will get a 'TAB' tattoo instead.
12. Looks like 'Riff Raff' is back in the set too! Looking forward to seeing them in London. Should be a cracking night.
13. Step aside, there's a new kid in town... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K--8uQ03v1c
14. I feel that I should direct you here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/281069-is-this-you/
15. Whatever the song, if it gets a good reaction I can deal with it.
16.
It's better than standing stock-still and staring at your fretoard, I suppose. That won't get people talking about you on t'internet.
I suggest that we all behave like this guy at our next gigs and report back on what happened.
17. A superb tuition video... Everything is wrong.
18. Hi all Can anyone recommend a good source for custom scratchplates? I would like to get a 4 ply tort plate for my Deluxe P-Bass, and they don't appear to be commonly available (Fender, Allparts etc). Apologies if this has been posted before - I couldn't see anything. Cheers
19. I'm a pretend pop star
