  1. That was over two weeks ago and I’ve lost nearly a stone in 5 weeks, so I don’t think I can be caused of not trying 😉
  2. This was brought up the other day and it all revolves around cost. If we can encourage someone to do it for free, then yes. What will probably happen is a static camera will be set up next to the desk at the rear and we’ll use that. In fact, I’ll take my camera, so at least we’ll have something.
  3. So, gig day for this little venture is now just 4 weeks away and we started rehearsals about two weeks ago. Unknown to me at the time, the keys player shot a cheeky video of our first run through of Hammer To Fall on his phone which was propped up against the side of the PA. The performance was far from perfect, but it gives a good idea of what a thunderous beast the 'Deacy P' bass is. I absolutely love it.
  4. Have recently been asked for the weight of this bass. I have now added it to the main description. Weight is 9.48lbs.
  5. Despite trying to sell a few basses, I managed to buy another one last week 🙄, so this really does need to sell now. Sensible offers considered.
  6. Absolutely. Some might say that he's one half of an 'ok rhythm section', so it must be Flea that's letting the side down? 😂
  7. Well, I didn’t see this on the horizon anytime soon, but RHCP actually played Sikamikanico live in Rio yesterday. It’s a tricky git of a song to get right at the best of times and I can see why they avoided it for so long, but they pulled it off just for Josh as it was his 40th birthday. Happy Birthday JK 🎉🎂🍺. The video and audio in this excerpt is not as good quality as the full gig it’s extracted from.
  8. Shipping options amended to include Basschat's new affiliate EUROSENDER.
  9. Great result. I've noticed that there have been a few self confessed lurkers registering and that can only be a good thing. Keep up the great work 👍
  10. Tried one of these last week I'm seriously impressed. I could definitely see me going the route @Higgie has taken for the bigger gigs I do. I would probably stick with the amp/cab for smaller gigs, which I generally don't use my IEM's for anyway. As bizarre as it looks, don't knock it until you've tried it. Seriously 😀
  11. Does anyone here have the remastered version of Badmotorfinger that came out in 2016? I would be interested to know how different it sounds compared to the original version. I would also like to hear the studio outtakes.
  12. So, I've listened to them all a couple of times since posting this. @Chiliwailer - you were quite right, Blood Sugar Sex Magik all the way for me. I was going to re-iterate what I said on the FB post which was 'by a country mile', but I'd like to amend that. Badmotorfinger is actually a cracking album, but like you, I don't really care much for the production. Perhaps a better way to put it would be that it doesn't hold up very well against Rick Rubin's effort. I have nothing against Nevermind, there are some great tunes on it, but it doesn't feel (to me) like one cohesive unit the way BSSM does. I was once again reminded why I don't listen past Track #11 due to the drone of Something In The Way followed by that ridiculous ten minute silence and then the cacophony of Endless/Nameless. I very much enjoyed listening to Badmotorfinger again and if the production was just that little bit better, it would be right on the tail of BSSM IMHO. For me, Red Hot Chili Peppers just got better and better by the album. When Slovak died, I thought they were done; then Mother's Milk came out. I didn't think they would make anything better. I must have played MM hundreds of times in the couple of years after it came out and I still love it. Much to my surprise and enjoyment the 2003 remastered edition contained extended versions of two of my favourite tracks from that album, Sexy Mexican Maid and Knock Me Down. Nirvana indeed. I bought BSSM the week it came out and loved it. Subsequent playings have not diminished my opinion on the album, whereas as Nevermind, also bought the same week, now just feels a bit 'meh'. Let us not forget that the BSSM recording sessions also gave us 'Sikamikanico' (which sounds more like MM era RHCP to me) as well as the mighty 'Soul to Squeeze'. Right, I'm off to watch Funky Monks again 😀
  13. Thanks. Yes, there was a bit of a learning curve. You can split the pick-up's and control the EQ of each side. That's what the four smaller control knobs and the two micro switches are for. The other knobs are the standard bass, treble, pan and volume with a further four way knob for the LED's (side, side + red, green or blue). It really is effortless to play and it sits just right (on me), mainly I would suggest, because of its headlessness.
  14. but but....I only added that to appease him, so I kind of opened the door on that one 😀
  15. I'm not looking for trades rob (as per line 3 of the OP), but I think it would be rude of me not to ask what you are offering. PM me with details if you like.
  16. It just so happens I'm driving up the A12 towards yours tomorrow. I'll get my drill out. No extra charge 😂
  17. Please don't feel bad. It was a bit of a wake up call really. I have a few basses that I'm not really using and they could easily be put towards one that I would. Bizarrely, after our series of messages, I've come out the other side of the vintage Fender phase I was going through. Any of these would do, but I would rather not have to go to South Korea to get it 😀
