  1. This gig was almost a complete disaster in terms of getting anything put together that was even remotely watchable/listenable. I set my Zoom up in pretty much the only safe place I could with a decent view of the whole of our stage area. What I didn't do was check the camera after everyone, including the singers, were set. As a result, Natalie's face is obscured by her tablet on a stand. D'oh! Luckily, the promoter decided to film some of the set on a handheld camera and also had the good sense to take some video of the very enthusiastic crowd singing along. So, this chops between both cameras and has a few effects thrown in for variation. The audio was recorded as a multi-channel through the desk and mixed seperately. I would usually also mix in some of the Zoom audio to give it a bit more of a live feel, but the drum sound was so overwhelming that it sounded better without. So, Starman - hot off the press. Enjoy (hopefully 😎)
  2. Had a traumatic hour in next yesterday with Mrs.H doing some clothes shopping for our imminent holiday. The majority of the shirts on display are slim fit, which I ain’t. Went to River Island instead 🤪
  3. If I went that route, I would undoubtedly end up looking like a dog’s dinner. Nice thought though 👍
  4. I quite like the third one. I'm lead to believe the shirt he wore actually depicts a cartoon of some description.
  5. So, the blue picks have arrived. They’re not as light in colour as I thought they were going to be, but if I’m going to use one, I prefer Dunlop Tortex, so I’m happy to compromise 😜 New Schaller S-Locks (Nickel) installed. Now, they’re rather swish and well thought out in their design update. I don’t know how long they’ve been around, but they seem to address a lot of the issues of all the other ones I possess. Not that I’ve generally had many issues with them anyway, but I’ve heard others have. So, I’m rather jolly happy with the way this has all turned out. I’ve sent an e-mail to Mark thanking him for all his hard work in getting it just so. It really is a joy to play. Thank you again if you are reading this Mark. Now on to the REALLY tricky part - finding something anywhere near close to that shirt John Deacon wore. I e-mailed the costume designer for the Bohemian Rhapsody film, but so far no joy.
  6. True to his word, Mark from Limelight has delivered almost exactly to his earliest estimate of 12-16 weeks from order. I couldn’t be happier with it. It is exactly what I was after. It does have a J neck on it, but other than that it’s ALL Precision. I could have sworn I had a spare set of Schaller’s knocking around somewhere, but it appears not. I’ll order them at the same time as the blue Dunlop picks I was going to get.
  7. Ticket’s still available. Come on down for a night of classic Bowie.
  8. Great to see you there Paul. Yes, funny old room that one. Didn’t think the sound was going to be great. It was pretty much what we all said as soon as we walked in there, but the crowd seemed to enjoy it. Next stop Witney ⚡️
  9. Roll up, roll up....some standing tickets still remaining (seating sold out). Doors @ 7:30 Darren Jones (support) @ 8:00 ChangesTwoBowie @ 9:00 We hit the ground running with Boys Keep Swinging and we won’t stop until we get to Suffragette City! See ya there ⚡️
  10. I think the t-shirts are quite good. ‘Just Vomit’ with the Nike tick 😀
  11. I watch videos on FB and You Tube and do wonder sometimes whether I’ve fallen down a rabbit hole into an alternate universe. This one popped up today. They seem to be very popular in front of the Hellfest audience, but I have to say, I’ve never heard of them. With songs like ‘I Like to Vomit’, ‘Pipi vs Caca and a particular highlight ‘Je Collectionne de Canards’ (which features a man in a gold lame suit wearing a duck mask wandering around the stage with his trousers round his ankles @41m 32s) what’s not to like? 🤫 Enjoy.
  12. I went right to the very back of the pile today and dug out my second ever bass which hasn't been out of it's case for quite a while. After putting fresh batteries in it, I found that there are clearly some issues with the electronics. Any volume is intermittent at best and there is no volume at all when the pick up selector is in the 'up' position. I'm not even entirely sure what the three switches below the pots actually do now, it's such a long time since I've used it. It's such a shame as it had a great sound when it was working and the neck profile is like putting on an old pair of slippers. I'm wondering what the options are to get it up and running again. Obviously it all depends on where the issues lie, but I'm guessing if it's electronics on the board, it's not going to be an easy fix. I'm not very experienced in repairing/diagnosing electronic faults. Can anyone give me a steer towards getting the old girl playable?
  13. Tickets available from link below. https://martinwoodevents.co.uk/leigh-rock-david-bowie-tribute-6th-july-2019/
  14. The venue doesn’t have staff in there on Sunday until 11.30, so we had to remove everything and relocate it to the Premier Inn before we could even think about going out for a drink. By the time we had done that it was 11.45pm and the chances of finding anywhere open was slim. We went out for a walk and asked someone who pointed out The Clothier’s Arms that was open until 1am. A few drinks were had there followed by a most excellent chicken kebab at Max’s Balti House. Night night.
  15. I thought that was an odd name for a village 😂 I shall report back on Sunday.
  16. Yes, well we’re staying at the Premier Inn at the airport, so if all else fails 😂
