  1. I really like the look of the ebony fingerboard. It looks really classy and I’m sure it sounds fab too. I was thinking about ordering something like Andrea’s P bass, but that ebony board looks lush.
  2. Good question and a great answer. I shall be investigating. Thanks to you both 👍
  3. I’m expecting a delivery from Rush Backstage. The last three from them have been cash on the doorstep to cover all duties when they attempted delivery. I guess it would depend on the carrier. They use UPS, but DHL usually ask you to pay online before they even attempt to bring the item out for delivery. Do you know who the courier is?
  4. Yes, the Airturn is the same, but once you know it, it’s hard to forget (I think 😂).
  5. Just answered my own question I think. Macassar Ebony?
  6. That's a lovely dark looking fretboard Si. What is the wood?
  7. The way I did it was to time the song as we played it in rehearsal and stuck that into the app - Bob’s yer mother’s brother.
  8. Yes, I’ve used this a couple of times with an app called UC Surface to control my own mix on larger gigs and it was amazing. I believe it relies on having a stable wi-fi to run off though, so it’s not for every gig. The ability to tinker about with your own in-ear mix without waiting for a gap in the music or shouting at the PA guy is just the best thing ever....IMHO.
  9. Yes, the negative function is great. Very little light emitted and saves on battery too. You can also use timed scrolling, so you can hit go at the start of the song and it should auto scroll at the correct tempo all the way through.
  10. Yes, not the cheapest granted. I could have sourced a far cheaper version which would have done the same job, but this version is bomb-proof and as a result, being the klutz I am, should withstand any battering it’s likely to receive at my hands (or feet).
  11. I was strictly paper on the floor until the ole peepers started needing assistance to focus 😂. There are a couple of programs I use across my two main bands. One uses On Song, the others use Set List Maker. They’re both suitable for what you need and free as far as I remember. I’m OK with the songs in both bands, but if I’m depping and need sheets for songs instead of a set list, then it’s great for that too. I display them on an iPad Pro, which is nice ‘cos it’s effin’ huge and I can see it from miles away. I usually hang it off one of the stands of the drum kit. I’ve found K&M tablet holders to be the best. They really make quality product. As mentioned previously, the golden nugget is this.... ....which is on my pedal board and allows me to access everything in both programmes without going anywhere near the iPad. By far the best set-up I’ve ever had.
  12. Ha ha. Pigbag - haven’t heard that for while. Gonna have to my singles out 😎
  13. I can, but I’m not going to. You seem to have made your mind up.
  14. Stinkers? Mmm. Opinions do very as they say
  15. I don’t think you’ll find much in the way of negative experience.
  16. Why not. Somebody will be doing me a favour if they buy it before I do....
  17. Nice Frog. There is a particular bass in stock at Bass Direct that I’ve been Gassing over for quite a while and this thread is not helping in the slightest 😂
  18. Good choice right there. Looks a little bit Enfield to my eyes too - which is no bad thing 👍
  19. Yes, gets my vote. Swiss Army Knife of basses right there 👍
  20. I bought it unseen and just didn’t click with it. It was another re-entry into the world of 5’ers for me as the material I was playing necessitated one. I did a bit of proper research after that and bought a Lull. Perfect.
  21. Not enough information to compute an answer I’m afraid. Budget/sound/desired spec etc all have a part to play here. FWIW - If I had the budget for a new Mayones, I wouldn’t buy one. Plenty more fish in the sea. The one I had didn’t stay long.
  22. Veering slightly off topic I know, but a nice little video narrated by Hugh Syme regarding the creation of the art for Permanent Waves. Love the bit about the storm photographer strapping himself to street furniture. Bonkers.
  23. Yes, I’ve since learnt there are some doing roadside pints. It was just a little odd in that I spent a good few hours walking around London yesterday waiting for my mate to have an MRI. I passed loads of pubs and there wasn’t one that was open - apart from the one I passed on the way out.
  24. I know very little about him, but looking at the 2002 clip, how did he among to afford to pay so many musicians so well? Presumably his album sales will have helped, but man, there's a lot of people up on that stage.
  25. Ooh, this brings back some memories. My Dad had quite a few of his albums. I don't remember ever hearing Silver Machine though - headphones on. I'll be back later 😉
