  1. This has sat in my setup since about 2005 or so and mainly been used as a preamp for running guitar/bass into my PC, and headphone amp. I've just been over it with a can of switch cleaner and all the audio paths seem good. However, the LED meters have faded over time and no longer light up at all. Original power supply (with an incredibly long wire) included. Only moving on as I've (finally) upgraded to a USB interface. - switchable 48v phantom power on the two mic/instrument inputs - switchable HPF on channel 1 and high-z switch on channel 2 - channels 3 and 4 can be used for turntable input Say £20 + shipping or may be able to arrange delivery/collection if you're in the Glasgow area. Payment by paypal or bank transfer is fine. Open to offers given the LEDs issue. You can check my previous BC feedback here.
  2. Paid for some strings late on Friday afternoon and they arrived at my door on Saturday morning -- thanks Simon!
  3. Yeah I've actually been using a guitar D string based on that logic but the tension has never felt quite right at 34" - but it was very much a niche use case last time I looked into it.
  4. Are there any string sets for 7 string BEADGBE or BEADGCF tuning that have a wound top string? Last time I looked I couldn't find any but that was a while ago. Or should I suck it up and get a plain top string?
  5. Huh, I had no idea Jimmy Egypt built instruments (although I did suspect that wasn't his real name...) He has a well known and long established repair service in Glasgow and I think his own shop now. Couldn't speak to its value though, sorry.
  6. Some of the Mission ones have an extra toeswitch that gets picked up automatically as an extra switch by the Helix, so it can behave the same as a standalone wah pedal. https://missionengineering.com/shop-2/products/expression/specific-use-exp/sp1-l6h/
  7. Somewhat disappointed to learn this isn't, in fact, a drum you play with your tongue.
  8. The article is 15 years old, in fairness.
  9. I do love a faux-carbon finish.
  10. Joined the HX Stomp club this week -- very impressed so far (the switches feel a million times better than my old Pod X3L), but is it just me or is it impossible to clear the looper's state without getting a moment of the loop playing back?
  11. This was surprisingly educational. All now claimed, lock it up.
  12. @binky_bass you have PM (my definition of "weekend" is flexible...)
  13. Sure, I'll look the spares out again this weekend and let you know
  14. This chat is bringing back fond memories/stress dreams of getting three people and a double bass into a Nissan Micra many years ago. Can't really recommend that...
  15. All a few years old now. As far as I know these all work but I don't have a computer with a CD/DVD drive to check. Mix of CD-ROMs and DVDs. Happy to answer any questions if I can. Warcraft III Doom 3 + expansion Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 (note this is not the remastered editions, although they're conveniently not spread across 6 CDs like the original version) Unreal II Dawn of War + expansions Quake 4 GTA Vice City Yours for the price of postage before I bin them.
  16. Still have a few of these kicking about if anyone needs 'em...
  17. Another week, another easy transaction. Thanks again Martin.
  18. Open to offers, especially if you're after more than one thing.
  19. Primus DVD sold, price drops for Bill Dickens and Dream Theater. Buy them both and I'll cover postage.
  20. Haha, definitely. These are the spare spares, believe it or not. Like I said, I assume they breed in the attic.
  21. I sold Martin some CDs -- as per the other 13 pages of this thread, a pleasure to deal with. Cheers!
  22. Got one of them here as well... 😬
