  1. I love it. An excellent twist on that style of body.
  2. I've cycled with a bass in a gig bag with backpack straps which was ok. On a standard bike I think a practice amp might be challenging. You might be able to bungee it on to a pannier rack but you'd need to check the rack will take the weight. Having that much weight out back can really mess with the handling as well. Cargo bike time? 😉
  3. OK this is neither cheap nor in the UK but it's pretty cool https://basslab.de/doubleneck-bass/
  4. No personal experience but iirc Halo was synonymous with over promising and under delivering on some other forums I've been on. Caveat emptor...
  5. I had a fretted and fretless set of the 5 string versions which were nice, but I was always baffled by the fact they didn't have the actual model name/number on them anywhere. Still have my Milestone which was my first bass, and saw me through a lot of practice and many gigs, not too mention learning how to do my own setups.
  6. The only one I've seen so far that I'd want is the 1986 5-string Wal in the classifieds here. But not £7k+ want.
  7. I was under the impression that it's functionally the same aside from the VTC, even down to the backwards wiring of the blend pot.
  8. As a pointy headstock fan it's not really what I'd look for in a Jackson but it's a big improvement on the incredibly ugly David Ellefson sig they did.
  9. The bridge position certainly looks like it might negate the ergonomic benefits of a shorter scale.
  10. Growl = lots of mids Hifi = too much treble 😬 On a note serious note I'm happy to listen to recommendations for any 2 pickup, 4 knob config, ideally with a mid control.
  11. Nice, not having to import one is definitely a plus point. Thanks for the heads up!
  12. I have a Spector Legend 6 which was rewired to passive by a previous owner. I'm considering making it active again, can anyone suggest a 9v preamp with vol, blend, a mid control and treble cut that comes as a 4 pot version? I'd also consider a filter pre. Sound-wise I'm looking more for growl than hi-fi, but I'm not sure how much difference there really is between preamps in that respect. Edit: bonus points if it's easy to fit for someone with no aptitude for soldering
  13. I upgraded my pj5 fretless with the higher spec pickups and frankly I might as well not have bothered, the difference in noise was almost imperceptible to my ear. (Fortunately I didn't pay £250 for them 😅)
  14. Spot the illegitimate family resemblance here (all made by Cort)
  15. Looks consistent with the stock images here: https://ibanez.fandom.com/wiki/SR1300_(1993–1997)
  16. Speaking as someone who pointlessly gave themselves tendonitis trying to replicate my DB technique on electric bass, I would not try and do that. They're different instruments, and although there are lots of transferable skills treating electric bass as a small DB doesn't really work (nor does treating DB as a big fretless, as lots of people have found going the other way). Do what Happy Jack says.
  17. One of the few birth year basses I would actually like to open. Beautiful. Glwts.
  18. Is the body all aluminium, with different veneers front and back? Looks incredible.
  19. I swear the product manager who signed off on naming it the Sterling by Sterling by MusicMan needs their head examined
  20. This has inspired me to actually use album shuffle, turns out it's a good feature, who knew 😅
  21. Pretty sure Foobar2000 can do this. https://www.foobar2000.org/
  22. Hah, I think I just spotted this on Gumtree, nice find. Cool headstock.
