  1. Looks like it was moved (to a forum only visible to supporting members)
  2. Sold Ady some pickups and it was a very smooth transaction. Thanks again.
  3. Bought a footswitch from Alex, and I wouldn't hesitate to do so again - great communication. Thanks again!
  4. These are cracking wee basses, mine has served me well for many years now. GLWTS.
  5. Very much this. You can't fake that mojo 😎
  6. 5 string P/J set from a Metro Express Hybrid. Lightly used with just a few hours playtime since I bought the bass at the start of this year. Only selling because I got a great deal here on the higher-spec version with a hum-cancelling J pickup -- the only difference I can hear is the mild single-coil hum from the bridge pickup on these. They'll come with a Sadowsky box, unused screws, used springs and manual. Check the dimensions on the data sheets for the bridge and neck. Thomann don't seem to sell this precise set standalone, but the 5 string JJ single coil set is £218 at present, so I think this is a reasonable price, but feel free to try me with offers/swaps for WHY. Check out my feedback. Payment by BACS or Paypal. Postage included; if you can collect from Glasgow I'll knock a fiver off.
  7. Gary Willis' Fingerboard Harmony?
  8. Is that real binding? I have a g4m guitar where the binding seems to have been painted on.
  9. Hey I didn't say it would be popular!
  10. All jazz odysseys, all the time.
  11. I'm pretty hard-line on this - if punters are only coming to hear your greatest hits set, it's probably time to pack it in, imo. Too many acts trading on nostalgia. Exceptions apply, YMMV, see T&C's, etc.
  12. Nice! These blew my mind when I came across their site (in the early 2000s, I guess?). Cool to see them live up to that 🙂 Their range doesn't seem to have changed much since then, I think they're still using the same pictures!
  13. OK, got the pickups fitted. First impression is that the main benefit is the higher-spec jazz-style pickup is hum-cancelling and totally silent, other than that I don't hear a great deal of difference. I'll need to record some samples and A/B them with the ones I took before.
  14. Unless 300g and £75 is a deal breaker I'd get the one you like the look of more.
  15. This sounds pretty similar to how some graphite/carbon fiber basses are made, I think?
  16. Nice. TIL you can play ghost notes on a trombone.
  17. I'm quite taken with that treadplate pattern control cover.
  18. I don't really have bucket-list basses as such, but I was too slow to get a lovely looking Ibanez BTB single-cut locally recently. That's the only time I remember I've had a realistic interest in buying a bass then not been able to.
  19. Just bought a guitar stand from Lozz, quick delivery and nicely packed, thanks again!
  20. Bought some pickups from Mat and it was as smooth a deal as you could hope for -- thanks again!
  21. Just measured my 5+ string basses, two are ~16.5mm and one is ~20mm but I couldn't have told you what the spacing on any of them was beforehand. I used to have a 5 string on a 4 string neck conversion, even that was fine for me at the bridge, the nut end was more of an issue. That said I find swapping between basses with different numbers of strings pretty straightforward, which I know a lot of people struggle with, so may not be representative.
  22. Going to quote this verbatim when Mrs VK enquires about another mysterious package arriving
