  2. I’d say the second Death Star if it had been finished. It’s actually not too bad because some of the enclosures hide quite light pedals. It is a bit of a beast though.
  3. Pretty big one! Is the weight closer to an X-wing or a Death star?

  8. I already have two single pickup basses with minimal controls, and once you factor in the shipping and tax it costs the bulk of what my existing two cost. There's nothing here for me, especially because I dislike that unnecessarily large bridge plate those cheapest SBMM basses have. Apart from that effin' bridge (wouldn't have made it that much more expensive to use the Ray24/34 bridge, would it?), it is a handsome looking bass in its minimalist style. But it's a no from me.
  9. Immaculate pristine condition example of this iconic guitar which is perfect for every genre of music, comes with original Gibson case which is also unmarked. Any trial welcome and meet up possible during May !!!!

  11. The fella is very talented and creative, seems to be enjoying what he is doing and is making a fair few quid along the way. Wish I could waste my (admittedly very limited) talent and time like that!
  12. Gotta pick a pocket or two - from the "Oliver " soundtrack.
  13. I’m after one of these, so will be interested to hear your thoughts in it. what’s the pitch shifting like, does it go down in half steps?
  14. Fitted one this morning and it's an absolute game changer. No need to make any adjustments on the amp now: I can do it all from my phone or iPad! For live work, my plan is to just use the front panel controls to set the amp for the venue, then I will have my three favourite effects stored to the "panel" so I can just switch between them using bluetooth.
  15. I just noticed this. I love these strings on just about every bass. I had used the long scale 45-100 set on a shortie but they were just a tiny bit light for the E&A. The short scales are available in 45-105 and 50-110. Amazon have the 50-110 on sale at £29 at the moment so I've ordered a set. The 45-105 are pretty much at RRP. They are excellent. They feel a lot nicer under the fingers than La Bella's which I find a bit grabby, and they have a bit more articulation too with the tone up full. https://www.ernieball.com/guitar-strings/bass-strings/stainless-steel-flatwound-electric-bass-strings Long Scales are now available as 45-105 for the first time too.
  16. Picked one of these up and I am pleased with it. At first I was put off by the array of presets, and struggled to find something inspiring. Having spent a bit more time with it, I find both the Vintage Basic and Vintage Comp have an old school tone that responds to variation in attack in a way I like. The tuner and 'stage feel' are welcome bonuses, too.
  17. Anyone tried these multi coil J pickups: https://lawingmusicalproducts.com/bass ?
  18. Hi Philly could I come and take a look? I live in Herts and could drive up...

  20. Some do sound more pleasing to my ear than other. I was able to pick out my main gigging preamp as I was making dinner and listening on headphones. There’s certainly some I’d prefer to have than others but like most things on a gig who would know only us.
