  1. Past hour
  2. 15 posts in and nobody has made the Dam Busters joke. We're slipping.
  3. These are absolute things of beauty 😍 They sound immense as well - if only I could justify such a purchase. GLWTS!
  4. Wow. Museum piece. Or more exactly magazine piece about music history ahah! Amazing. Glws
  5. For sale due to an older Jazz Bass having come in and usurped it, this is a lovely player's grade 69 Jazz. Obtained in a trade on Basschat a while ago, I then had a professional nitro refinish done, including some delightful checking on the paintwork. Before I owned it it's had a replacement ebony fretboard with new binding, very professional job. I believe the pots and pickups are original, and pretty sure the bridge is too. Tuners are definitely original and are a little stiff but perfectly functional, they may benefit from some WD40 but not critical. Scratchplate isn't original either. Weighs in at 4.5kg according to my bathroom scales. Comes in a very cool but very heavy 70s/80s semi flight case, and will be very heavy to post so pickup/meet up greatly preferred. Alternatively I can provide a decent old gigbag instead. Can't upload pics here due to hitting my limit, if I can sort it out I'll add one here in a sec. https://ibb.co/WKM8BxV https://ibb.co/gzfGmTw https://ibb.co/44PSKT7 https://ibb.co/8d872QG https://ibb.co/B6Pn3Hd https://ibb.co/qCtqv32 https://ibb.co/5s6h36C https://ibb.co/t8Rcvn9 https://ibb.co/k5bqBGf https://ibb.co/fr99jGk https://ibb.co/7r5Sfjj https://ibb.co/MsYWsNc https://ibb.co/bHdvpz5 https://ibb.co/mhc9MH5 https://ibb.co/vxLR8Hb https://ibb.co/hdcfyqk https://ibb.co/8rwWfkm https://ibb.co/44RMwt4 https://ibb.co/f1c0JwZ https://ibb.co/2vR49PX https://ibb.co/h2KkRgF https://ibb.co/6D5sMcP https://ibb.co/crv8CBG https://ibb.co/JQ3zZSQ https://ibb.co/nkR7XMP https://ibb.co/tzmgST8 https://ibb.co/jfxgxzQ https://ibb.co/rF4yYB0 https://ibb.co/k0LfY7L https://ibb.co/1nd1R75
  6. Potentially, would depend on what it was...feel free to PM me!
  7. Very rare 1958 (first year of production) EB2 with original case (although case handle has come off). No breaks, no repairs. All original apart from the pickup, tuners and bridge which were replaced by Gibson in the 60s according to the previous owner. Sounds superb, very underrated basses and they really are a lot more versatile than a lot of people think - you can get a lot more than Jack Bruce out of these basses! Pickup greatly preferred but can post via UPS if necessary. 8. I don't think it will make any different to how they look but if there's any gunk on them that should be cleaned off pretty easily.
  9. Yep this is the best way and most cost effective. The only other way is I use my courier who cover Europe and he makes sure all is well with a FaceTime call when he swaps the basses over. Sending and hoping the other party is as honest as you are is far too much of a risk. I would want lots of communication and chats/background shopping to make 100% sure but even then I think I would choose to fly it over.
  10. Yet another perfect transaction with Ian. Unreservedly recommended!
  11. Really need to see some pics of your basses! Lots of Gibson here 😎
  12. Quick update. Played the GK today for an hour. No issues. Recorded two quick samples with the contour button engaged and disengaged. I also attach the EQ settings. Still keep the low price as I cannot promise that the problems I had during the heatwave may not come back (during the next heatwave, for example). So, maybe only play it on cold days to be on the safe side? 😉 V_20240427_153859_ES3.mp4 V_20240427_153756_ES3.mp4
  13. I tried to get to the Aspinall Arms. I actually got in the car park and couldn’t find a space , tried to get out and an oil tanker was stuck as people had blocked both sides of the road. Tempers were starting to rise, so I abandoned the attempt. I could see the white marquee and hear music but couldn’t park hope the gig went well. Let me know the next time you’re playing. rob
  14. Yet another effortless transaction from the legendary Mr Boro. Buy and sell with confidence.
  15. yep that's what i find. There is a band up here doing this called Outside the Original and they've struggled to get a decent audience at the beginning but the more they play the more people come along and they now fill or almost fill most venues they are playing. Venues i thought they would get a decent audience were surprisingly empty at the start.. I agree there's not a big enough audience for prog these days. One of my first decent bands around 1980 we played Magnum, Saga, Kansas, Thin Lizzy, Gary Moore and ELP Fanfare for Common Man. We also did a few rock type songs like Van Halen, Y&T and by some obscure Canadian bands (singer was Canadian). I had only heard these bands because he played them for us. Was a great band with fairly competent musicians still under 20yrs old. We played some great gigs and had great feedback but alas illegal substances within the band killed it off for myself and guitarist who stopped playing in bands after that. Shame Dave
  16. After a fairly average 60/70’s set last week I managed to totally destroy the pup in my 54 squier p As a player that rests my thumb on the pup, it’s obviously too much pressure on the coil. is there any kind of cover available, or some sort of attachment I can place either on or close to the pickup to give me somewhere to place my thumb? any help gratefully received. 😉👍
  17. I will have a case after the bank holiday. I will ship to UK MAINLAND, included in the £900 asking price
  18. I've a C4 already (Or I'd snap this up), powered when I need it from my PJB BG120 ... an awesome setup. Someone is going to get an amazing deal/sound with these. GLWTS. Sam x
  19. I use 12 gauge cable meant for landscape lighting. It's tough, durable and doesn't tangle too easily. Never gives me any problems. As a point I do recommend that all speaker cables, especially those used with higher powered amps, be terminated with Neutrik brand NL4 SpeakOn connectors. The far east versions can and do cause problems. The nL4 connector seems to be the standard installed on all my cabinets. Using 1/4" Phone jacks is not good for an amplifier and simply cannot handle the current requirements of such amplifiers.
  20. Yeah, way too good to be a backup, innit? Enjoy!
  21. Torpedo CAB M+ amp and cabinet simulator and IR loader. Includes Bergantino impulse response (IR) files purchased separately. Original power supply and packaging also included. This is in immaculate condition having only been used twice at home. The pedal has velcro on the bottom for attaching to a pedalboard. I can remove this prior to sale if required. Price includes UK postage. Price would be £150 for local collection.
  22. I’m about to play gig 3 of 4 of the Bank Holiday weekend, and I’m using the Puma I bought from you. It’s bleedin’ marvellous.
