  1. Past hour
  2. Most likely only two are active. The only reason for three is if the associated speaker has multiple drivers and the amp has dual power amps separately powering them, with the third wire a common ground.
  3. Zoom B2 Four multi effects unit with a huge amount of effects, compressors, amps, preamps, looper, tuner etc - £125 (can arrange postage) Bought from @Machines on here recently and used for 1 gig but found a different solution so this is straight back up (I paid £140 so I think it’s very fair - still in as new condition). No box but has original Zoom power supply - incredible value for money, and now that Zoom have finally put a DI out on their multi fx units it could serve as a complete solution for your pedalboard as you can run 5 effects simultaneously straight to front of house. It’s an excellent piece of kit, but I was after something very specific and A/B’d with another pedal I decided to go with the other one, and there’s not enough space on my board for it really Some vids/info below for anyone who wants to know more about it - they’ll do a better job than me of explaining the features etc 👇 There’s also a good thread in the Effects forum that’s worth checking out if you’re considering it. Would trade/take part ex for - JPTR Jive Fx, decent Octaver (OC2 or similar like the MarkBass one or other ones based on it), MXR Bass Chorus Deluxe (or potentially a different Chorus - try me), always room for a nice Compressor or Preamp, or whatever - try me, I can put money the other way if it’s something I’d use
  4. Great thread Rayman , ones just popped up on eBay, looks similar to yours and quite a cool looking P bass https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266799033161?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=9LDVFUILQyW&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=1wDkd4CjTIi&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  5. I’m glad to hear positive reports on these… In had one and I didn’t like it all! I wanted to like it- nice build, nice price, nice look, and the gain reduction LED is a really nice touch. But for me, it took something away from the sound (I only tried it with my Jazz, I think). It wasn’t the compression characteristics as such, but tonally it took a big part of what I like about the Jazz away. I can only use silly meaningless adjectives, but it took away the slight ‘chewiness/stickyness’ that I like in my Jazz. Something in the upper midrange. That’s just me though - the same effect could very easily be complimentary to other basses and playing styles.
  6. Nope, I got a Gorilla stand or two. As I also have two more or less feral daughters, two rescue cats and a wild dog as well, vases and knick-knacks are long gone.
  7. The XLR has three leads…
  8. Well, the bass had been sent to the doc… quite a lot of work needed! And a hefty estimate too, as expected. I don’t think I’ll be looking at a new bass for a while!
  9. You will wear it around the house and care nothing for vases and Knick-knacks that will be sent flying in all directions?
  10. Buy the four conductor Speakon as it appears to be a standard across cabinetry manufacturers. Wire the two conductors of the speaker cable to Plus1 and minus1. That's all there is to it.
  11. This info popped up on the FB feed from Tech 21. From the back panel and all the knobs and things, it looks right interesting! #TuesdayTweak ‼️ A final decision being made regarding a small cosmetic modification to the SansAmp XB Driver for its release this spring. …Red light, green light, one, two, three!! 🚦 This “all-in-one” box brings together elements from the SansAmp Bass Driver DI, the Para Driver DI, the Q/Strip, and dUg Pinnick Ultra Bass 1000 into one unit. ➡️ Find more on the SansAmp XB Driver here: https://www.tech21nyc.com/products/sansamp/xb-driver/ . . . #tech21nyc #sansamp #sansampxbdriver #newrelease #newpedal #prototype #comingsoon #effectspedal #basseffects
  12. I'll have a look at those but I'm favouring simplcity over functionality. TBH I've no idea how to make them standup without stands and for me, thats functionality I don't need.
  13. Ok…then assume I have a male xlr for the output on the TE amp…please walk me through the proper connection for the Speakon.
  14. I'm not sure enough of the details yet to answer any questions accurately. It doesn't look to be a 'crossover' set up though, more of a 'stereo' signal. I caught a quick look at the graphic of the 'high bass' looked like very like the signal I send through my floor monitors whan I'm mixing heavily filtered bass, some mid boost and the top end rolled off. He's using a Behringer XR18 so plenty of options on the eq. In the past my favourite set up was to go through the PA and use a Hartke Kickback 10 as my monitor. The moment you put gig level bass through the PA the sound from FOH becomes an issue on stage. Mids and top are radiated 90x60deg (depending upon your PA horn) but bass at FOH is radiated 360 deg and swamps the stage. The last thing you want is more bass on stage so you have to cut it almost completely from your monitors. The Hartke sounded great at middle volumes but had nowhere near enough power handling for bass so I turned the bass down to minimum and being a kickbback it directed all the mids and tops I needed straight to my ears. It sounded so tinny without the PA but great mid gig. I know many bassists in the past have used a stereo set up and that goes right back to the dawn of amplified bass. A common trick was to use a guitar amp and speaker for a mid/top sound and something suitably massive for the bass sound.
  15. Have got the foot controller for the 500?? So tempted by this amp... I just wish it had the effects loop , power amp in etc like my Katana 210...
  16. I'm selling my FEA Labs DB-CL. Incredible compressor in great condition, working perfectly - https://www.ovnilab.com/reviews/feadual.shtml Cheers
  17. Like-New Broughton Subsonic Octaver. Price: 290 GBP + shipping.
  18. Phone jacks were developed for use in telephone switchboards. They were designed to work with 48V DC at a couple of hundred milliamps. When being plugged into or withdrawn from a socket a momentary short circuit occurs which isn't good for a SS amp. Ampeg used an XLR on the back of its B15 series speaker cabinets. If your amp has XLR speaker outputs and the cabinet has a SpeakOn then by all means use an XLR.SpeakOn cable.
  19. Okay, but, to me, “Country” is most pre-1970’s artists of the genre, and ending with George Strait and Scotty McCreary. Bluegrass is different…Bill Monroe, Ricky Skaggs, Allison Krause…Folk is way different…Dylan, Kingston Trio, Weavers… Most new country is really pop music. The best definition of country music I’ve heard is “three chords and the truth.”
  20. It’s something I’m beta testing at the moment and is digital. Can’t spill the beans yet. Will reveal when permitted.
  21. These solutions look fine but fall over (pun intended) the moment you use locking strap buttons, which Sei actually fit as standard.
  22. Keep it Greasy - Franz Zappa edit - spell check sometimes he bizarre, no? Frank!!!
