  1. Past hour
  2. The Band, a classic example of Americana if there ever was one, were 4/5 Canadian
  3. Sorry just checked a few couriers and it’s a bit of a pain.Plus thought I had some packaging in the attic unfortunately I must have used it.I may pull this this week as I have now bought something I was going to use this sale for. Regards
  4. I'm having a rethink of my amp set up to suit my current needs. New band etc... First up is my excellent TD650 amp. This is my main amp and I'm not really 100% about selling it but basically I don't really need such big gear now. It's in great condition and comes with its Gator 3U gig bag. Secondly my Proline 1x15 (400w 4Ohm) cab. Very tidy condition. No tweeter in this, just big bassey thump. Works great with one of the 2x10s. Collection or meet only (within reasonable distance). Located in St Helens Merseyside and happy doing a 100 mile round trip if you bung us a few fuel tokens! Priced to sell @ TD650 - £350 Collected HD350 - £250. Now sold 2x10 NeoLine £275 Now sold 1x15 Proline £140 Collected
  5. You're a braver man than me mate. After a few 'platform related wobbles' early on with our Glam band (Meniere's can be a bitch) I decided to go with Silver and Sequin adorned Converse.....
  6. Nice idea. What is his crossover point?
  7. I saw an ad recently looking for someone to join an outfit specialising in Appalachian Murder Ballads. Am I safe in saying I think that's an Americana sub-genre?
  8. It's basically intended to be country as country used to be without all the glitz, glamour, homogeneity and mediocrity that's been associated with "mainstream" country for decades. I'm using "country" as a catch-all term including bluegrass and other American folk genres or sub-genres, but if you swap it out for "Americana" then that's where we're at.
  9. I'm selling my bass. Probably a late-19th century Bohemian instrument, formerly block-less and once upon a time a 3 stringer, although it had a block fitted and a new neck sometime before I bought it. Recently serviced and set up by Laurence Dixon, who's been looking after it as long as I've had it. Not the prettiest bass out there, nor the easiest to fly around, but for the price you'd be lucky to find something as loud, punchy and characterful... This has been my main instrument for almost all of my career, it's the instrument on most of the albums I'm on so I can provide studio recordings, videos etc... I can even point you towards recordings of John Hebert and Ernst Glerum borrowing it... £4000 including Realist pickup, spirocore strings, and a good quality new case. The bass is in Hastings.
  10. This has taken a good 5-10 minutes of determined googling to find - a brief clip of the BBC Shergold 4/12 (at 1m43s) on NMTB season 9 episode 5 starring Terry Hall bless him.
  11. I'm wondering if there's a little nod to John Fahey in the choice of title.
  12. What a fabulous old instrument with a wonderful provenance. Takes me right back to Genesis at Earls Court in 1978. Very best of luck with the sale. Phil PS. This is why I love Basschat.
  13. First gig of the year on Saturday!
  14. Unfortunately not an option, but I've watched enough Youtube vids where people have upgraded to know that this is the direction I want to go. It's already winging its way to me from Germany so it's a bit late to back out now regardless 😅
  15. The BBC has a collection of instruments that it uses as props and for performances. (Or at least it did when my friend worked there.) Wonderful looking guitar this. Good luck with the sale!
  16. Sounds like (no pun intended) you are sorted, but i would have recommended you tried good hearing protection first. I have some ACS custom moulded ear protection that I run with 17db filters which work perfectly for lowering the overall volume level and letting me hear my bass above the cacophony.
  17. Oh yeah completely. Would you be able to get a price on that
  18. That white double-neck has certainly done the rounds. You'll also find it with The Wedding Present on Top Of The Pops, ditto Dope Smugglaz (who?); an episode of Men Behaving Badly and another of Never Mind The Buzzcocks, and a one-off Robbie Coltrane tv special!
  19. I fully agree with this. My first love of music is electronic stuff, but sitting at home listening to drum loops for hours and thinking about the finer details of which hi-hat sample to use just doesn't fill me with much joy. Meeting up with a few people who enjoy playing music is a lot more fun, getting their different viewpoints (and leaving the hi-hat nerding to the drummer!), and I find that having live gigs to look forward to (even if they sometimes turn out to be poorly attended) gives a focus that you don't get by just doing practise sessions.
  20. Another easy transaction with Ian. I sold him my Cog octaver and all sorted swiftly without fuss. Many thanks.
  21. Well you say that, but neither rose to the challenge of dispelling the myth around gold plated connectors 🤣
