  1. Past hour
  2. On lead guitar last night with an ‘anthems’ band (all the predictable stuff that has punters losing their poop) at a nice old pub just outside Portsmouth. When I’ve played there previously I’ve noticed that single-coils pick up a lot of buzz, plus we’ve been in a ‘box’ area in the middle of the pub which made it feel very loud despite the earplugs that I always use. This time, instead of a Strat I took my modded Steinberger Spirit with (noiseless) Lace Sensors as well as my Tele Deluxe (humbuckers). Also they gave us an area backing onto the front windows, which was much more open and allowed for better engagement with the audience as well as reasonable ventilation. What a difference! The on-stage sound was loads better and my Steinberger has never sounded as good. The landlord is great with us, providing free drinks (which for us means coffee and soft drinks) and paying above the odds. The only downside was the long drive home to Swin Vegas.
  3. Thanks for the replies. Yes indeed it is difficult finding something appropriate. I can get a case from Gibson for the princely sum of £259, against the Gator iat £170! Can't see any pre owned for sale at the moment. I got into short scale basses about five years ago after a tendon issue affected my playing. Since then I've started to love playing short scales and have a Supro Huntington, Sandberg Lionel and the Gibson SG. I fully agree with your views re Gibson design and build, but then again I do love the sound and playability of the SG Bass especially with a set of Ernie Ball Cobalt Flatwound Super Slinky 45-100 strings. I bought the Gibson pre used, hence the rectangular case, as I would have preferred the shaped case. Cheers Charla
  4. And an upright piano. Would hate to be roadie for your band 😂 Love the Pedulla bass Dave
  5. Adding an option of the neck without the tuners: £90 posted.

  7. As much as i love that purple T bird i had an Epi T bird once and it suffered terrible neck dive until i moved both strap buttons and all good after that. Just wasn't the best built bass so sold it on. Would like to try a Gibson one or even the neck thru Epi version which i've read is a better built bass. Like the sound of them. Dave
  8. Very nice and great sounding Valencia classical guitar in beautiful condition. Model CG30R+ Ser No 4700359 Casa de guitarras Paid just over 300 Euros for this in France when I was eager to embark on my Gypsy Kings stage. It never happened. Could do with a set of strings but still sounds great with the old ones on. Used it once when someone requested Girl from Ipanema Comes with a gig bag. A quick dust and it'll look brand new. Now £90 Ideally pick up from Ashill in Norfolk but could probably find a guitar box if posting is a deal breaker.

  11. The first of my hidden pickup 5 stringer is all finished, I had to boost the signal slightly with my DI pedal but it was a lot louder than I thought it would be Just got my Cow Print one to finish now........👍🏻🤟🏻
  12. The Grouch - Green Day
  13. Fully working EBS Session 60 tilt back combo. Last pic shows it being gigged a few months ago. More than up to the job for small venues but a great practice combo too. No problem even with my 5 string EUB Not looking for any trades as I need to clear out stuff. Pick up from Ashill IP25 in Norfolk. Great condition for age and only one little scuff on one side. Welcome to come and try.
  14. If it's a business plan then its a poor one 😀 Still owning multiple Peavey basses I follow most threads concerning them. The 2017 reissue had a long running thread , just like the 2025 reissue had. There is one striking difference between them, a few folk bought 2017 models . 4 months down the line there has not been one 2025 Cirrus NBD here, TalkBass, Peavey's forum, Bassic.de or Only Bass. Won't be surprised when these get quietly dropped from the product list next year 👍
  15. Price dropped to £900, fed up of bashing my shins on the flight case in the hall!
  16. I think the PAT test sticker suggests this is a joke.
  17. I used my new Player series Precision once or twice but actually preferred the sound of my old Squier Standard over it until I took the horrid farty mex pups out and put in some Custom Shop '62's. I'm not too fussed now about getting mojo dings on it as it sounds so bloody gorgeous and makes me feel good as I know the band will sound good too.
  18. Pulp were excellent. Jarvis is a great frontman.
  19. As to alternate takes, also the Guitar Hero III version of "Cult of Personality" is different than the album version.
  20. Really cool sounding old school Alessis Microverb 1. Does work without doubt however, power supply separated in house move hence, £15. Maybe you have a PSU. (3.5mm mono jack type (v /AC) If you do, grab a bargain. Ebay got them for about £12. If I find the original before a sale, I'll edit ad to £25. Happy to post, guessing at around a fiver. Maybe a bit less. Alternatively, pick up from Ashill IP25

  22. 'A' Bomb In Sesame Street — The Jam
  23. Don't actually see many of these. Part of the range that Danelectro brought out a fair while ago. (The Dirty thirty, Nifty fifty and Nifty seventy) First two being guitar combos, this being the bass combo although, most people play guitar through these. My Taylor acoustic and Thinline Tele both sound fab through this and I regularly gigged with it in a Jazzy duo I was in back in France. However, it's actually a bass combo and was great for learning stuff or small intimate cafe' gigs. (Actually handles a low B really well) This has had a little mod on it but is reversible. The headphone socket hole has been used for a line-out (female 1/4 mono jack) as I wanted to stick it into the P.A without using a mic. Only found a couple for sale at silly money, both in the States. (Reverb It's a really cool looking little amp that handles bass, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and on one occasion, a lap steel. Got a few little age related scrapes but nothing serious. NOW £60

  24. Fully working M-Audio 88 key controller. Have used it loads with the Roland JV1010 also for sale. Velocity keys (not weighted) Can't find PSU but fully working when powered up. Only fault is the little volume slider plastic top thing is missing but I might be able to stick something on although slider is still easy to use as the metal bit still sticks up. Can't post as no idea how to pack it. Pick up in Ashill, Norfolk. More clearout stuff to come.
