  1. Past hour
  2. Would be posher if I was better at it! But good on Steve who made us try.
  3. Nord Electro 4D 61 Keyboard Weighted Waterfall SW61 Superb Nord Electro keyboard - this has all the classic acoustic and electro mechanical keyboards you could wish for for live and studio performances. Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric pianos, acoustic grands and uprights Hammond, Farfisa and Vox organs. It even has Mellotron and Chamberlain samples, plus strings, harps and guitars. This version also has drawbar control. It’s a classic in its own right but still updateable using the Nord site and sample library. Included is the keyboard, user manual, mains lead, damper pedal, sample library on CD plus a nice heavily padded gig-bag. I have added a custom ‘half moon’ switch to control the rotary speaker simulation from the keyboard rather than using a foot switch like an old Hammond. If you collect in person I’ll also include a stand. The price is non-negotiable and sorry no trades. It is feasible to post but only in the UK and at your cost and risk. See pics - I’ve not gigged it but have used it in rehearsals occasionally. To be honest it’s been used at home as a piano and the other wonderful sounds have been wasted! Selling as I use my old Korg live as I’m not worried about it being knocked about and I’m going to buy a simple piano for home use.

  4. There's a puddle of slobber forming next to me... 😋😋
  5. That's a good point Bleat and a great idea! Especially seeing as we also have the Gold Tone Micro Bass (when I'm richer 🤞...) which lands between the two. As an aside, feel free to hit me up on any ABG questions you may have. I've owned and gigged quite a few over the years and may have some useful insights on the matter. Always happy to help. Cheers 👍
  6. So an update on this bass, after tinkering around this week getting it set up as I like earlier on this morning I played it for about an hour and a half, just along to fave songs on YouTube and when I put it down I was absolutely buzzing, I’d enjoyed playing it soooo much. Safe to say I consider this was a good purchase.
  7. Anybody that knows Mike knows that he has exquisite taste... This must be a nice bass...
  8. If @Lukasz Chyla says it's a good bass then it probably is... Personally I would rather have one of his personally hand built one offs... But then...what do I know...

  12. The inclusion of an ABG section or a mixed Uke/ ABG would be nice. I'm currently switcing over to an acoustic setup and apart from some good suggestions and info on a recent post I made to point me in the right direction, there seems to be a general lack of useful information around the internet.
  13. As with most of these queries Bill is the one with the knowledge making a good point, if the gear has been ok everywhere else then it’s venue issues. As well as you would need to adjust to the room so would the others, sounds like little co-operation there.
  14. Tonight’s episode is Nate Mendel, looking forward to this one (plenty of Precision!!)
  15. Okay. The weight question is a pretty straight and serious question to me. It can apply to anybody of any age when you factor in body type age or whether suffering from any particular injuries.
  16. Today
  17. I've actually been wanting to ask this exact question for a while now! Remember lusting after this crazy fretless Explorer-shaped thing for a long time before it eventually sold on Reverb: https://reverb.com/uk/item/82270994-pete-back-custom-made-fretless-bass-1983 Googling it reveals some blog posts which have more information about him. Seems like a little-known luthier who made some really high quality instruments in his time.
  18. Today the deluxe of Kiss Alive! God, it's like being 13 again.
  19. Count me in, Miles. My Batking f-hole fretless is my only bass that fits in an airplane's overhead bin...and its sound is massive. I'm still experimenting with getting it to sound a tad more like an upright. All in all, it's a different beast that rewards the time taken to fine-tune one's playing techniques. So much more to learn -- which suits me just fine.
  20. Maybe I was hasty in confining the removed no-name far-eastern jack socket to the bin. I am now offering it free of charge with all washers etc for pickup from South London, or for the cost of postage. PM me for details. This represents an exceptional offer for anyone who enjoys living on the edge and would enjoy the frisson of anticipation in not knowing whether their bass will work when they plug in to play a gig. Will it last a lifetime, or will it fail next week? We have no way of knowing! *May not suitable for basses used with strap locks.
  21. Was on loan for a number of years and wasn’t used. Wiring loom had completely failed so taken out. I’ve asserted that the pickups and output jack work, so theoretically just needs a new loom. neck appears straight and not warped or bowed. I don’t have the right tool to adjust the truss rod so can’t make any claims about that. Plays well as it is. i’ve put the knobs in The Control cavity for safekeeping. when I was gigging it many years ago, I moved the strap button a couple of times to change the angle it hung on the strap, and the old holes are still there. other than that, the physical condition isn’t too bad with no major scratches or dings. £40 delivered or less if collected.

  22. No. "What's the weight" is a serious question for a demographic that is pushing on in years, when they are considering buying a bass.
  23. Another call-out for your time and effort. Definitely stopped me even considering a 'blind' purchase of one of these. Thanks - you've saved me some grief here.
  24. Only seen episodes 1 and 2 so far. I found episode 2 pretty boring with mostly "agricultural" Grade 1 level playing. Maybe that's why they shoehorned in Larry Graham and Mark King, to counter the impression it was giving that bass can be mastered in a couple of hours? I did appreciate confirmation of my excuse for not singing anything more than oohs and aahs backing however; it's bloody difficult!
  25. Sorry headphones for drummers!
  26. It's got to be worth a go if only for the pleasure of building it and hopefully it could be playable.
