  2. Hi @Rosie C That stand is awesome! It is just what I need for gigging Could you please give me the name of the stand, a description or a link where I can find it? Thank you so very much!
  3. I still have a pair of Yamaha PB1 pres, one of which was my main pre, used with a matching Yamaha P series power amp in a true biamp configuration crossed at 300Hz, and so looks a bit second hand now. Mine are in storage awaiting time to do full cosmetic and technical restorations. So here's a pic I found via goolag.
  4. Today
  5. For sale is my Tone Hammer 500. This is a great amp with a warm, tube-like tone. I bought it new about 8 years ago and it's had regular, though not heavy use - approx. one gig a month - and always been well looked after. In great condition, with one minor scratch on the top, seen in the photos. Packed in the original box, with mains lead and instructions. Complete with the Aguilar carrying bag in very good condition. £500 including UK postage.

  8. Another ex-BassWorlder here.. Though I was only on it for a year or so... Before making the jump to Basschat on 17/05/2007. Most expensive thing I've ever done in my life... 😭😁😂 Wouldn't have it any other way though!

  10. Ever wanted that mega Bi phase action like a musitronic! But smaller and cheaper. These are difficult to find, so my last bump.
  11. Rehearsed with my old soul band as a dep on Friday. Last time I depped was 18 months ago so a few new songs to learn. I've not had much time to learn or practice their set so I thought Friday was going to be a struggle and occasionally it was! On the whole though it was a very positive experience. Plenty of muscle memory kicking in and some of the new stuff like EW&F's Fantasy and Let's Groove sounded great (for a first time run through anyway 😄). It was great to see the guys again and meet the new guitarist, their positive and kind words during the rehearsal definitely gave my confidence a boost. The rehearsal room is in the singer's garden and he has a nice little spot by a river, the house was built in the 1600s I think so it has a lovely ambience. As it was a warm evening he had the bifold doors open and at one point there was cheering when a song finished. There was a slight pang of regret on my drive home but it was the right decision to leave when I did...just maybe wishing the dep jobs came around more often 😄
  12. Reminds me of my old band. We used to write and rehearse in the drummer's spare bedroom which was set up so we could plug in and use headphones. He used an electric drum kit so the only loud noise was the thud of the rubber (and he was a hard hitting drummer!) and the singer. The house was semi detached and he said an old lady lived nextdoor, gawd knows what she thought of it. Quite nice on our ears though.
  13. Selling my Helix Floor as I've recently got a Kemper in a trade and fancy switching over to that for a while. Great condition. I've pictures the only blemishes on the inkt that I can find. Comes boxed and I have 2 USB drives here with some IRs and a few paid for patches on the unit too. I can factory reset if preferred. Looking for £775 collected or £800 posted Any questions just fire away
  14. Not too long ago i bought a beautiful MIJ Fender 75RI jazz (proper Non export as mine has 70s spacing) The bass is a 95 and NOS bass, imported from japan by the previous owner (it was lying in the back of a shop, and had been there for years), who straight away had a set of Lollar pickups added. The original pickups came with this, and i know certain 75RI came with USA fender pickups (advertised as such) however these pickups seemed to be on the "export" with 60s spacing. I dont think they are USA as the bass was made strictly for Japanese market, and they have a large bar magnet on the bottom. Im sure ive read that certain Domestic models had very high quality MIJ pickups installed. Anyway the 75 is a keeper, so these are lying in a drawer, ive briefly fitted them to my 82 JV jazz, and they have a very clear/modern HIFI tone, with a lot of highs, and tight in the bottom, they are fairly even in the mids and maybe voiced to bring out the ASH/Maple combo, they have slightly larger pole pieces than most, almost like a 1/4 pounder. Ive put some fralins in the JV which has given it a grimy punchy 60s tone, making it a different voice to the 75. I could be mental selling these, but i wont use them, and theyll really enliven a dull sounding jazz, maybe spruce up a squire, so hopefully theyll pimp someones baby 😊 In great, and id say fairly unused condition. Ill take £60 posted to UK for these.

  15. May 17th 2007 for me. Ex Bassworld too, although not for long. Was slogging away in an 8 piece pro function band at the time, seems like eons ago. Didn’t do any other forum or social media for years, just this one. Sold and bought a fair amount of basses and amps over the years, and met some top folk along the way. 😀
  16. Not last night but today, I set up my two Evox 8 speakers, then thought I would play some music on them while we were setting up, one side not working, had a look, no lights.. hmm, maybe the power at that side of the stage not good, no, the guitarists pedalboard from the same power strip is on. Get another power lead, still nothing, plug it into another socket, still nothing. No time to get home to get another speaker, and doesn't look promising, one evox 8 at an open air gig isn't going to do much, The drummer and guitarist were looking at it while I was checking something else and found when it rocked forward the power went on and back it went off. so we moved it so it was on a level paving slab, and it seemed to stay on. Went for it and it survived the gig, but that is this weeks investigation started!
  17. Posting gone a bit awry! The Jake came to me, went to a friend last year and just came back!
  18. Lightweight bridge from Albridge. Delano Alnico at the neck, Cat's Whiskers MM at the bridge.

  20. October 2007 - I'd been trying to find some information on a harmoniser and stumbled across BC.
  21. I borrowed one for a while to compare against my energy headless many years ago - it gave it a good run for it's money. I'd have one in a heartbeat. My Status journey actually started off with a Washburn Status - not too bad, but I don't miss p/x-ing it for the real deal! Can't believe the sort of second hand prices they are up for now though.....😲
  22. Yep. There I am. op.
  23. And have been for decades.
  24. Did a gig last night in Llanfair Caereinion. What a pleasant surprise to find a d&b Audiotechnik foh and martin wedges. I left my backline (QSC12) in the car. There was a moment to smile when the singer asked for less bass in the foldback to be told there was none. But there was a REALLY weird squeal going on. We could not find an induction loop and the rig was not hooked up to anything installed. Eventually I found the loop amp which was live with an open mic somewhere on the stage. It was clearly set up for general use. Everything got a lot easier when that went off.
  25. Bought about 12 years ago second hand. I can't remember how old it is. I think the previous owner bought from new a few years earlier. There are a few nicks here and there but plays well. There's a nick in one of the strings which may need replacing. Comes with soft case, stand, pickup, bow and preamp. PIckup from East Molesey in Surrey, or will drive up to 45 minutes to meet halfway. Please contact me if you have any questions. Thanks for looking. Al
