  1. Past hour
  2. I don’t blame you tricky, if it has sentimental memories you have to keep it 🙂, they are both really nice 👍
  3. Weird issue on my Terror 500 mk2. The on-standby-off switch is now on-standby-standby and yhe light vomes in straight away. Looks like there's a slow-start delay circuit issue or a stuck relay, but would like to see schematic before opening up.
  4. Thanks @MungoBass It's honestly the nicest profile neck I have ever played. Sadly me and 9 pound basses are not a match 😞
  5. I had the same criteria as you @SumOne and the EHB1006MS I've had for a couple of years now fits them perfectly. I can sit at my DAW for hours with no shoulder ache or dead batteries. Their form factor is superb - to the point that traditional bass shapes are clunky.
  6. Black blocks and binding…. lovely. I had an early one of these Japanese made basses, it had such a slim neck - a joy to play. This is a fantastic price, shame I’m so into Precisions now. GLWYS
  7. Now something from more recent times by the infectiously funky Nine Sparks Riots with Petter Oloffson on bass.
  8. One of my favourites featuring the very underrated Eddie Watkins on bass. Killer!
  9. Just received the Subway D-800 and trying it now in my lunch break. First impressions is the Mesa’s baked in sound is a lot warmer than the Puma which will probably suit the mostly ska reggae and prog material I’m doing of late. However I can get a similar tone with the Puma. On the face of it so far, I’d say the Tecamp Puma has more overall flexibility and does a better modern tone if needed, and the fan is louder on the Mesa. Never owned a Mesa until now. Found the Tecamp box and manual too.
  10. I’m not sure if anyone has posted this, as I haven’t followed the whole thread but it’s certainly worth a listen as it grooves nicely.
  11. PRICE NOW DROPPED TO £300. Easily the best speaker cabinet I have ever used: am downsizing to lighter Genz Benz cabs as I rarely play live now. The Eden D210XST Cab is loud enough to be heard and yet still small enough to be used at home or in a small studio. For those players who need a portable, high-performance rig with even more low end than the XLT, Eden has designed a 2 x 10" cabinet for their XST woofers. Punchy and clean, the D210XST produces a full and clear tone through its two 10" speakers. It's excellent for delivering articulate bass lines with volume. This 2 x 10" cabinet handles more power than many 4 x 10" cabs on the market. The D210XST offers huge bottom end with its cleverly-designed tuned and ported cabinet construction and speaker selection: the low end is full but tight, the mids are open and well-defined and the highs are clear and crisp. Durable build quality makes this ideal for touring and live performances. All Eden enclosures are constructed with 5/8" thick void free plywood with full dado and rabbet jointing. Massive internal bracing prevents vibration and keeps the sound deep, tight and clear. Exclusive Eden Cast Frame loudspeakers and Eden Cast Bell low distortion tweeter horns are designed, hand-built and tested in their own factory in the USA. Very Good condition. Comes with an official Eden cover. Power Handling: 500 Watts Impedance: 8 Ohms Speakers: 2x10" Eden-spec Eminence EC1060XS speakers Tweeter: Eden Cast Bell low distortion Crossover: 3.5KHz @ 18dB Frequency Response: 30Hz - 14KHz Sensitivity: 103dB SPL Connections: Parallel 1/4 Inch and Speakon Dimensions: 23" w x 18" h x 18.5" d Weight: 59lbs / 26.8kg NOW ONLY £300. Collection from East London preferred, although happy for buyer to arrange a courier.

  13. Hi Terry. I have had some interest – maybe things are just slow these days. I'm surprised it's still here, to be honest!

  21. Guess who? This time, sold a nice classic compressor to Arnoldas. Everything cool, as before!
  22. Price drop now £115! Inspired by both new and old, the AfterLife has FOUR different internal analog circuits that provide 2 distortions and 2 fuzzes. Providing plenty of headroom and a ton of gain, these four selections will cover all the distorted ground you’ve got. While the outside boasts a lone Mode selection knob and a Volume control, there’s more under the hood to this one. Internal adjustable trimpots are available for all four modes, with parameters like overall Volume, Bias, Gain and Filter. The enclosure is 100% Solid Aircraft Aluminum Machined. The artwork on the front and back is laser-engraved, and each AfterLife pedal is 100% hand-wired and hand-built. Collect from Chesterfield or add £5 for UK postage. Cheers! Sam

  24. Hmmm...not the first time I've looked at this...even though I am without a Spector I really can't justify another bass. GLWTS
  25. Set your amp gain to desired level (before peaking), bass to about 1-2 o'clock (until it sounds rich and full), and treble to 2-3 o'clock. Mids all flat. If you find it's too scooped, add a tiny bit of lower mids to fill out the centre. That's the amp sorted. Now set the onboard preamp to just a smidge above centre on the treble and bass, then leave the mid control in the centre. That's how to get the best out of a Fender 18v preamp. An active P&J should have quite a thick, but slightly "plinky" sound, as the split coil and jazz pickup slightly cancel each other out. And yes, the standard Fender strings won't be helping the sound at all. I usually tear them straight off and replace them with Elixirs. They give a much cleaner and richer sound with more resonance. Failing all that, I'd have a look at the PJ set from Lollar. They've always been the best sounding replacement pickups to my ears.
