I've had one fitted by a great local tech and its been good, definitely does what you'd expect - takes a bit of fine tuning to get it to work without bending the notes sharp however. Sometimes comes a little loose, its a weird design, but always having a screw driver in the bass bag allows for quick adjustments.

Hi all, Unfortunately, an unexpected bill has come in, which means that this excellent Fuzz/Filter from CMC Audio (who make the Proto Type overdrive) has to go. I bought it a little while ago, and honestly, while it’s excellent, it’s also the most valuable of the many fuzzes I have, so needs-must. More info from CMC here: https://cmcaudio.odoo.com/shop/bi-filter-fuzz-33 I made a video of one particular sound I liked below, but there’s more videos on their Instagram and on YouTube which shows it doing straight Fuzz tones, as well as synthy, envelope filter tones too. You can attach an expression pedal, and a holding down the footswitch means it works as a momentary switch (until you take your foot off of course), a short press and release obviously still allows a latching function. No box, but it’s as-new other than Velcro on bottom and will be packed very securely. I’m open to part-ex’s (what u got?), but need at least £100 cash. These are circa £230 new + plus delivery from Belgium + VAT. BFF.mov Cheers Si

I did this - stuck the components (mine is just a single USB output) in a bit of plastic tube then cable tied under my pedal board. Pretty no, cheap and works, yes.

Nicely done Rosie. That's so much better than having eBait deliver instant gratification. -

I bought this a couple of years back and did it up. It was professionally set up and restrung but I am just not using it. We were playing 80s alternative songs on folk instruments BUT I quickly got sick of taking several instruments to gigs and seem to have settled on using less. I added the fitted case, bought brand new from Gear 4 Music. The action is pretty decent and these are loads of fun / easy to play. I have it strung G-D-A-E but you can tune it C-G-D-A or like the top 4 strings of a guitar. Happy to meet Swindon - Newbury way which can be discussed via DM. Thanks for looking.

Anyone solder wires into mains plugs?
BigRedX replied to Steve Browning's topic in Repairs and Technical
This came up on another forum, and the advice from several experienced electrical engineers was that a better and more permanent contact between the screw terminal and the wire conductor was achieved if you did not tin the wires, because the copper strands can compress and essentially cold weld to the terminal under the pressure from the screw. -

I did that once with The Skids song Into the Valley where i had to de-tune the E to D for that song and forgot to tune it back up again. Played the next song like that and no-one even noticed. Same song, different night, i had it in my head that i de-tuned to Eb rather than D and once again no-one but me noticed. Just goes to show if you play with absolute confidence everyone will thing you're right. Even when wrong. 😂 Dave

There’s plenty on here and elsewhere about how good these things are. I’m a bit gutted at moving it on truth be told, but my left shoulder has recently become a lot more knackered than it was and I’m finding shorties a lot easier and more comfortable to play. As a result this just isn’t getting used of late and that’s unlikely to change unfortunately. Ive had it a couple of years (picked it up via BC) and it’s only had occasional rehearsal room use so it’s in great nick. I’ve switched the knobs out as these look cooler, but the originals are in the case and will be supplied too. Comes in a Gator case that’s both perfectly functional and necessary! Think the RRP for these is at nearly £700 now and the cases an extra ton. Moving it on at the price I paid (as I remember) in the spirit of BC. Not looking for trades on this though. I haven’t got a box to accommodate this and wouldn’t really want to post anyway I’m afraid so will have to limit to collection or fairly local meet-up for now. I’m located just by j7 of the M6. Cheers.

price drop £50+postage Falken 1 Mega Power Bank Bought 18 months ago to power my pedal board, worked perfectly. Will easily last a long gig, with 3 pedals it was lasting 10 hours or so before it was empty. Velcroed to bottom of board, saves faffing about with power. Charges via USB phone charger. Paid £103 from Thomann. £70 including UK postage.

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!
BassAgent replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in Bass Guitars
Don't know if this belongs here, but it's a Mustang-ish bass so I'll post it anyway. An acquaintance of mine bought a bass for his 12 year old daughter and asked me to set it up and see if the electronics or hardware needed replacement. It was one of these Harley Bentons: He put some Labella Low Tension flats on it himself, and the bass was...magnificent. Finish, fretwork, electronics, setyp, everything was tip top. Not even for the money, just as an instrument. If you need an affordable short scale bass, get yourself one of these. It's only €229 at Thomann and if I didn't have my vintage Mustang, I'd seriously consider buying one. -
Aye! We've played there a number of times. And you can park right outside!
