Just bought a cab from Peter. Lovely chap, transaction was perfectly straight forward and I am very happy. I would not hesitate to do business with Peter again.

Stingray over the years…what to know before buying?
ian61 replied to Thunderpaws's topic in Bass Guitars
And they weren't all great either. I bought a 77 Ray in 1980 and it was a bit below par really. Heavy with the black finish coming off in sheets and never seemed to have a lot of output. -
A fool and his money. So your basically paying say, 4.0K for the re-machined maple part of the neck and tuners? The rest could all be penny h'penny anything. Incredible.

Danny Sapko discovers… (now including follow up vid that is worse!)
Dood replied to fretmeister's topic in General Discussion
A point well made, though I fear that social media, or rather the companies who run the platforms have done such a “good” job at engineering (and by that I mean controlling) those using the platforms, that no one can handle any more than about 30 seconds of any video before the next micro dopamine hit is required triggering and almost involuntary action to scroll. I know people who can’t even list to a whole song in the car before they have to hit next. Any decent long-form productions are swamped by the algorithm spitting out the BS that we’ve spent 13 pages talking about instead. 😔 I would love for 13 pages about Bass The World’s gear, Bass Player Magazine’s reviews, The Jonny Dibbles and Bass Bonedos of this world being discussed and given the support our community needs. Support where it is needed. -

Gorgeous. I've dropped similar wedge on something else with EMGs, otherwise I'd be booking a ferry ticket! 😀

I thought you meant 50mm diameter....

One of the things we seem to have lost sight of is that for nearly everyone on here, the people who watch the more than 10 seconds of any of the videos being discussed in this thread are not our audience and are unlikely to ever be our audience, so lets stop worrying about them and maybe put some of that outrage energy into producing some great new music and performing it in a way that will get people excited about both the music and the performance.

In principal, I agree with you totally, WoT. If I had been the 'jaGuar' CEO, I'd have canned this rebranding before it ever saw the light of day, but the truth is that they needed to do something, because the past twenty years of trying to beat the Germans at their own game had clearly not yielded good results. Anyway, we're getting off-topic here. It was just an example of a brilliant way of getting people talking. Engineered outrage, again.

Boss WL-50 £100 posted
Paul S posted a topic in Accessories & Other Musically Related Items For Sale
Boss WL-50. Performed for every gig and rehearsal without a glitch for 5 or more years until I switched to the Legato bugs. No box but here's the Boss page: https://www.boss.info/global/products/wl-50/ These are just shy of £200 new, I'm asking £100 posted to UK mainland. Alternatively try before you buy in Benfleet, Essex.-

Oh, and a little catchup on odds and sods I had been pottering around at but forgot to mention... The top horn strap button was in at a funny angle (at least for the strap buttons I intend to use, and it annoyed me, so I filled and redrilled it (only got a pic of the filled hole - plus waiting for the felt washers to arrive). Also did that final fettling of the MM pickup route and now I'm a lot happier with the string to pole piece alignment. Seen worse on an actual MM, ooh, neep, you shady biatch

OLP Tony Levin - truss rod adjuster replacement?
mcnach replied to tauzero's topic in Repairs and Technical
I've always used whatever could fit in the holes, usually a screwdriver, or an allen key (the long bit).
