  2. Hey guys, I’m wondering if anyone in the know could advise the cost to setup a bass from standard to lower, with the nut being adjusted to suit the larger strings? Also, adding the strap locks which I believe needs a wee bit of drilling? Right now, I have no idea how to do it myself and was generally happy to pay. But since 2022 when I was first using a local place, the cost has increased 163%. I understand everything costs more nowadays but I feel this is a bit mad… it’s kinda making consider buying the tools and cheapo bass and learning myself. obviously, I understand there maybe cost changes depending on area but I’m looking for ballpark really. thanks in advance.
  3. Sea Cruise - Frankie Ford
  4. How does the AD200 compare to the HD150? Which do you prefer?
  5. I suggested to them they make the ABM pre in pedal form just like the other pre pedals they have. Don’t think it’s an option. I think they’d sell loads of them.
  6. The nice chaps at BassBros have just listed a 78 Precision which looks like it just banged through a packet of Benson & Hedges before 8am today https://bassbros.co.uk/product/1978-fender-precision-bass-11/
  7. Yes, strokes are ruled out for me too, for now. ...
  8. Silent Sorrow in Empty Boats - Genesis
  9. Thanks, that's what they think it is and I will get follow up to learn the exercises. Problem is I'm consistentlt a bit sketchy on the eye follow finger tests so now waiting on mri to rule out stroke.
  10. SIX .... Newtone Shorties B Strings. All 6 for £55 including UK postage.
  11. Good Grief - Bastille
  12. Seem to be.
  13. stripped raped and strangled - cannibal corpse
  14. Are these pedals sold out everywhere in UK at the moment?
  15. I don’t blame you tricky, if it has sentimental memories you have to keep it 🙂, they are both really nice 👍
  16. Weird issue on my Terror 500 mk2. The on-standby-off switch is now on-standby-standby and yhe light vomes in straight away. Looks like there's a slow-start delay circuit issue or a stuck relay, but would like to see schematic before opening up.
  17. Thanks @MungoBass It's honestly the nicest profile neck I have ever played. Sadly me and 9 pound basses are not a match 😞
  18. I had the same criteria as you @SumOne and the EHB1006MS I've had for a couple of years now fits them perfectly. I can sit at my DAW for hours with no shoulder ache or dead batteries. Their form factor is superb - to the point that traditional bass shapes are clunky.
  19. Black blocks and binding…. lovely. I had an early one of these Japanese made basses, it had such a slim neck - a joy to play. This is a fantastic price, shame I’m so into Precisions now. GLWYS
  20. Today
  21. Now something from more recent times by the infectiously funky Nine Sparks Riots with Petter Oloffson on bass.
  22. One of my favourites featuring the very underrated Eddie Watkins on bass. Killer!
  23. Just received the Subway D-800 and trying it now in my lunch break. First impressions is the Mesa’s baked in sound is a lot warmer than the Puma which will probably suit the mostly ska reggae and prog material I’m doing of late. However I can get a similar tone with the Puma. On the face of it so far, I’d say the Tecamp Puma has more overall flexibility and does a better modern tone if needed, and the fan is louder on the Mesa. Never owned a Mesa until now. Found the Tecamp box and manual too.
  24. I’m not sure if anyone has posted this, as I haven’t followed the whole thread but it’s certainly worth a listen as it grooves nicely.
  25. PRICE NOW DROPPED TO £300. Easily the best speaker cabinet I have ever used: am downsizing to lighter Genz Benz cabs as I rarely play live now. The Eden D210XST Cab is loud enough to be heard and yet still small enough to be used at home or in a small studio. For those players who need a portable, high-performance rig with even more low end than the XLT, Eden has designed a 2 x 10" cabinet for their XST woofers. Punchy and clean, the D210XST produces a full and clear tone through its two 10" speakers. It's excellent for delivering articulate bass lines with volume. This 2 x 10" cabinet handles more power than many 4 x 10" cabs on the market. The D210XST offers huge bottom end with its cleverly-designed tuned and ported cabinet construction and speaker selection: the low end is full but tight, the mids are open and well-defined and the highs are clear and crisp. Durable build quality makes this ideal for touring and live performances. All Eden enclosures are constructed with 5/8" thick void free plywood with full dado and rabbet jointing. Massive internal bracing prevents vibration and keeps the sound deep, tight and clear. Exclusive Eden Cast Frame loudspeakers and Eden Cast Bell low distortion tweeter horns are designed, hand-built and tested in their own factory in the USA. Very Good condition. Comes with an official Eden cover. Power Handling: 500 Watts Impedance: 8 Ohms Speakers: 2x10" Eden-spec Eminence EC1060XS speakers Tweeter: Eden Cast Bell low distortion Crossover: 3.5KHz @ 18dB Frequency Response: 30Hz - 14KHz Sensitivity: 103dB SPL Connections: Parallel 1/4 Inch and Speakon Dimensions: 23" w x 18" h x 18.5" d Weight: 59lbs / 26.8kg NOW ONLY £300.
